May I ask whether you applied online or on paper?

Did you receive an automatic email stating your application has progressed in the queue and you will be contacted by the Department once processing of your application has commenced? If so, when?

I received this email in mid August and I'm still waiting impatiently lol
We applied online. No email saying about application progressed in the queue, just direct email from CO requesting additional documents.

Mine was 4 weeks to the day from receiving the notification. So don't worry. I'm sure yours is due any day now. Best of luck.

I applied via a migration agent. I'll contact my agent next week and ask him to call DIBP to find out what's going on.

Today we received the email that hubby's application had been transferred to Perth (after 10 months of hearing nothing), so hopefully things are moving along....

Now just to arrange the medical, and submit new Police Certificates as hubby's Norwegian one is almost 12 months old, and due to the length of time we've been in Aus, I'm assuming he also needs one from the AFP.

Can anyone confirm if that is the case - the email we received mentions that applicants need an AFP certificate if they have "resided in Australia cumulatively for twelve months or more"

We've been here almost 11 months now, but hubby has spent time in Australia on holidays such as the 3 months he spent here when we got married in 2007, (prior to me moving to Norway), and that visit alone would be enough to go over the 12 month mark if we need to include holidays. Although as he'll likely be over the 12 month point by the time he gets the visa granted anyways I'm guessing we should probably just apply for the AFP certificate regardless.

Haven't had the visa granted yet - but have just received an email saying the application has been transferred to the Perth Office which, based on previous posts here, seems to indicate that things are moving along.

Hi unsure,

I got the same email today as well!
I'm from the UK and applied on the 14/12/14.
I was wondering whether I'd need to get an AFP check too...any help/advice on this from anyone would be much appreciated!

Also, are you going to fill out the form 80 asked for on the email?
It seems like all the same stuff that was asked in the online application don't you think?

Cheers,
Sam

Hi Butterfly!

Good news, hopefully this means we have a chance of getting our visas before Christmas! Will you be applying for an AFP check?

Hi Guys!!

First and foremost...I would like to thank everyone on this forum cuz I have learned all that I need to learn through all of you guys (and previously had a bad experience with a bad agent so...now I am all for applying independently)

so...I got the same email today saying my application has been transferred to Perth!! Almost screamed at my desk at work...also applied in Dec 2014, online in Sydney!! Looks like a lot of us Dec 14 people are FINALLY hearing from immi...

Just one question though..in the email DIBP sent us, it says the sponsor also needs to submit an application, they are referring to form 40SP right? or on top of that we need to submit another application online?
