I have pretty much all the info I need for it in a note (previous addresses and employment), I am from a low-risk country (United States). Just curious what everybody else's experiences have been. I submitted the docs they requested last week yesterday (was a massive pain as our internet conked out and had to use my partner's phone as a mobile hotspot, and we tried calling them and either the automated message saying they are too busy with high call demand and just hang up on you or say you are 65 in the queue or similar). Got it done in the end and now about to set out getting the police checks ordered. Applied originally back in March 2014 and they only last week asked again for the docs after eight months of no contact from them but apparently it's this massive priority (probably just the CO wanting to clear the case load and start on a newer stack though). Haven't been requested police checks but I'd like to try and make up for the delays I caused and show I have requested them. And for the health check, for other Americans do they typically make you do the chest X-ray even if you have said you've never had or been exposed to TB? I underwent the Manoux test back in 2005 with a negative result. Or do they only really request that if you indicate you plan on working or training at a school, child care centre or health facility? I know they say to allow two hours for the medical exam but how long do they really take? And what exactly are they looking for (aside from obviously expensive conditions which might place a strain on the health system).

Not sure about the TB thing.

Normally I'd say don't worry about form 80 unless it's asked for (which seems to be the general consensus here for low risk countries) but maybe you should in your case as it's been so long? Just to avoid any more hold ups? Especially if you already have the info.

That's probably what I'd do in your situation but that's just an opinion.

Love this form and this topic!

We've applied for the 820 visa online in Melbourne on Sept 30, so we'll be waiting quite some time I think... I've applied 'decision ready', meaning that I've included the health check & police checks. I've read that some people get their visa approved within months (if you're lucky it gets picked up that soon anyway...) so I'll just wait and see. Is there anybody else who applied decision ready?

For anyone who's interested in a check list, please see my post here: siridownunder.nl/aussie/en/our-820-partner-visa-application

I've noticed that I was crazy googling check lists and what people included, so that's why I wrote my own experience :)

Or if anyone has any questions, just contact / PM me and I'm happy to help!

Decision ready is not advisable these days due to wait times (even for low risk countries) averaging 12 -15 months and there's the risk of having to get medical and police checks done again.

I completed medical a few months after application and have already submitted my police checks. I'm in my 7th month of waiting, but don't expect any response for another 3-5 months if at all.

Thanks Syd! I just thought to do it, if the 12 months pass and I still haven't got a reply I'll just do the medical & police checks again. I claimed my health check at my private health insurance by the way (OOM Insurance in The Netherlands) and I got the total of $340 back, so that's a tip for anyone who has private health.

I email and submitted the cert of marriage in Oct, nothing receive by them. Not sure if they have received it and put it together with my file.

Checked VEVO by my BVA but obviously it's error as I am still in BVB. Then VEVO just telling the details of my BVB.

Am trying to have baby, should I just go to have the health check or wait for them to ask me to? Don't wanna spend the money then the report is lost or mishandled or whatever just like the cert of marriage...

Lodged 820 onshore by paper in March, Sydney.

It's over 6 months since you applied so you can go ahead and do the medical. You won't need to mail medical results as that is submitted by the relevant medical practitioner.

Also if I wanted to keep uploading more stuff (uploaded what they asked for last week already) would they see that as being "late" evidence? I know they say you can keep uploading evidence but would it cause problems now to upload more beyond the police checks and health check which are the last few things required? Should I get more 888s done? Get more statements from the bank? They have all been sent to the PO Box we use and not to our residential address. Internet bill with our address on it? Get a letter from the real estate saying I'm an approved person? Planning on doing police check applications today (sending off AFP application online and getting fingerprints done for the FBI at our local police station).

We don't have bills in both our names (he thought at the time as I have no credit history here it wouldn't be wise). And on the lease it is just his name, now I worry we don't have much evidence proving we live together (I am an approved person for our house but they don't show that on the lease, I think it's just something on file in the office). We have linked bank accounts (not really joint but we can switch between our accounts in net banking and transfer to and from).

We submitted (in addition to the 47sp and 40sp online):
photos of us and with family
the two stat decs from his parents
Our ID (my passport and birth cert, his birth certificate and 18+ card (neither of us drives)
Invitation from his parents to Christmas for the year before I applied addressed to both of us
Relationship statements
Electricity bill sent to our address but just his name on it
My change of address for after we moved (though now I worry because I only realised recently I forgot to do it when we moved :s )
Copy of the lease showing the address
A printout of a bank statement

But I feel it is still not enough :( should I be concerned they haven't asked for police checks OR form 80 or a medical yet? Or should I just go ahead and get what I can done for police checks today and upload receipts from the AFP. Not sure how I can show evidence of getting fingerprints done to send to the FBI, though. If I upload evidence of getting police checks done will they have to wait for those to come back before making a decision? Same for the medical results?

It wouldn't hurt to get more stat decs done.

Do you have any other evidence of social activities together? Joint travel (how about boarding cards or something from when you went to the USA?), concerts, sport games, cinema trips? More invitations or Christmas cards or anything? Personally, I'm going to upload birthday cards from my family/friends to my partner and vice versa.

Maybe download some bank statements and highlight transactions where you've paid money to him or vice versa.

Do you have super? Can you make him a beneficiary or vice versa? Maybe look into making a will? People on here say you can get templates online but I haven't looked into it yet.

Personally I don't think you can upload too much evidence. You need to make sure you have something for all the categories.

Also wanted to double check then when applying online, colour photo scans of passports/passport photos/birth certs etc. Do these have to be signed also?

---> Color scan is acceptable and if any form need to be signed have to be color scan your signature too
