I likely won't get approved until around March even though I applied back in March 2014. Have to send off my FBI application soon (they are aware it takes at least 13 weeks to get a response) and do my health check and AFP certificate but it sounds like my CO is satisfied with the relationship aspect so just those to go and I should have my 820 but that will mean I would be eligible for the 801 not long after that as it will have been two years since my application was lodged. After that point it will be a case of waiting and hoping to time my citizenship just right hoping for an Australia Day ceremony. But one day at a time. :)

I applied for my visa on 30th Dec 2014 and I received the same email on 14th September too and haven't heard anything yet

I received an auto-generated email today from immigration:

"Dear XXX
Application for a Temporary Partner visa (subclass 820) and Permanent Partner visa (subclass 801)
We are currently processing partner applications that have been submitted with complete documentation. To ensure that your application is complete, please refer to the following checklist. "

Is there anyone receiving the same email? I applied in early November last year and received an email stating that my application was transferred to Perth for processing on 14th Sep.

I think this is just a standard email that pretty much everybody gets. Just making sure people have done complete applications and making sure people double check what they've submitted and that they've done everything they need to. Might mean your application is close to getting assigned a CO but maybe not. It's immigration, doesn't have to make sense most of the time.

Yeah standard email i received to. As said just a reminder to upload evidence so CO's arent chasing you later.

Hi All,

I'm so confused, we submitted my Partner's 820/801 visa application online back in Dec 2014 and we received the Generic "your application has been sent to Perth" email that says the following:

Quote:

Form 80 - Personal particulars for character assessment
If you have not already done so, download and complete Form 80 (available from our website at http://www.border.gov.au/Forms/Documents/80.pdf). Please pay particular attention to Questions 21 to 26. It is essential that every period of time is accounted for, with no gaps in the timeline of your residence, employment and education histories. Any gaps in information will delay processing.
We've started filling in the form and a lot of the question we answered during the online application, does anyone know if Form 80 is actually required for online applications?

Thanks,

Nick

I was asked to do form 80 as well. I think they are making it required instead of optional now. I could be wrong, though. If they mention filling a form out its usually best to do it. I think it's just another piece in the puzzle that is you so they get a better idea of who you are. I'm just glad I'm not a refugee or seeking a humanitarian visa, they have to give 30 years of employment and residential history! I believe this form goes to ASIO, I could be wrong there so someone can correct me if I am. Form 80 is seen as a joke by many who have to fill it out and think on top of getting background checks it's a bit over the top.

I applied online on 31 Dec 2014, and received the "transferred to Perth" email on October 21st. Got very excited because someone somewhere in a thread had a decision four weeks after the email. Five weeks today since the email for me, and nothing since. I was briefly excited when logging into Immi today with the new landing page and graphics, then realized it didn't mean anything specific to my application. Therefore...still waiting!

Hello all!

This is my very first time posting in this forum although I have been using it as a resource since I applied for my partner visa. I thought I would share with you all that my temporary partner visa was granted today!!

I'm from the USA, partner is from Melbourne. We've been together for 8 years (long distance until I moved to Australia in Oct 2013). I applied online, onshore 22 Oct 2014. No communication from immigration until Aug 2015 when I got an email saying that my application had been transferred to the Brisbane office. Emailed the Qld office two days ago asking for an update (it had been 13 months). Received an email from the Victoria office today saying that I had been assigned a case officer. Less than two hours later, I was granted a visa!

Happy days!
