I likely won't get approved until around March even though I applied back in March 2014. Have to send off my FBI application soon (they are aware it takes at least 13 weeks to get a response) and do my health check and AFP certificate but it sounds like my CO is satisfied with the relationship aspect so just those to go and I should have my 820 but that will mean I would be eligible for the 801 not long after that as it will have been two years since my application was lodged. After that point it will be a case of waiting and hoping to time my citizenship just right hoping for an Australia Day ceremony. But one day at a time. :)

I received an auto-generated email today from immigration:
"Dear XXX Application for a Temporary Partner visa (subclass 820) and Permanent Partner visa (subclass 801) We are currently processing partner applications that have been submitted with complete documentation. To ensure that your application is complete, please refer to the following checklist. " Is there anyone receiving the same email? I applied in early November last year and received an email stating that my application was transferred to Perth for processing on 14th Sep. |

Hi All,
I'm so confused, we submitted my Partner's 820/801 visa application online back in Dec 2014 and we received the Generic "your application has been sent to Perth" email that says the following: Quote:
Thanks, Nick |
I was asked to do form 80 as well. I think they are making it required instead of optional now. I could be wrong, though. If they mention filling a form out its usually best to do it. I think it's just another piece in the puzzle that is you so they get a better idea of who you are. I'm just glad I'm not a refugee or seeking a humanitarian visa, they have to give 30 years of employment and residential history! I believe this form goes to ASIO, I could be wrong there so someone can correct me if I am. Form 80 is seen as a joke by many who have to fill it out and think on top of getting background checks it's a bit over the top.

Hello all!
This is my very first time posting in this forum although I have been using it as a resource since I applied for my partner visa. I thought I would share with you all that my temporary partner visa was granted today!! I'm from the USA, partner is from Melbourne. We've been together for 8 years (long distance until I moved to Australia in Oct 2013). I applied online, onshore 22 Oct 2014. No communication from immigration until Aug 2015 when I got an email saying that my application had been transferred to the Brisbane office. Emailed the Qld office two days ago asking for an update (it had been 13 months). Received an email from the Victoria office today saying that I had been assigned a case officer. Less than two hours later, I was granted a visa! Happy days! |
Great mine should be within this next month for sure then going off everyones time lines! congrats
