Under heading two it states that you have to have been in Australia for 4 years lawfully with the last 12 months as a PR. Hope that helps! :) |
It has been 13 months as of yesterday, and I received the "progressed in the queue" Perth email at the end of October. I wonder whether it might take a bit longer as I should be eligible to go straight to the 801, having been married 15 years? Does anyone have experience with recent timeframes on applying for the 820 and receiving the 801?

I will be applying in the next couple of weeks. I had a quick question regarding evidence. Can I just apply with the standard forms, pay the fee and upload evidence over the next month or so after my application? Or is it best practice to get this all in straight away when you apply?

So to get started you fill in the form online and pay, do you need to provide all the copies of birth certs and passports etc at that stage? Or can that be uploaded over the couple of weeks? Essentially my question is what do you need to provide at moment of payment? Also with regards to certified copies, if you scan in colour do you still need to get them certified? As I have all the originals? Final question I promise! We have been engaged for around 8 months, however we are not getting married till summer 2017, and we are onshore so looking at the 820 visa. However on the form it says are you defacto or engaged? Will it cause an issue if we are engaged, but are applying for the defacto visa rather than PMV. Thanks!!! |
Hello!
so...I will hit 14 months in a few days and got an email from immi today requesting more evidence, so I thought they wanted me to redo my medicals and police check since it has been well over a year. Opening the email and attachments - HEART ATTACK - they are requesting evidence of my relationship from lodgement to present, specifically they are requesting evidence showing that we are ● have a mutual commitment to a shared life to the exclusion of all others; ● have a relationship that is genuine and continuing; ● live together; or do not live separately and apart on a permanent basis; and ● are not related by family There I was at work, thinking what could i have possibly missed - we have already included everything we could think of in the initial lodgement (Dec 14), e.g. our lease agreement, form 888 from friends and colleagues, photos with family and friends and our travel, utility bills, bank statements that mail to our address, and our joint account (though arguably we hadn't used it all that much back then); we even included the entire whatsapp conversation thread since we had started chatting on whatsapp! the only thing that we could upload is an invitation to the CO to come to our home and live with us....(which, is potentially an easier way to judge if a couple is in a genuine relationship than reviewing a stack of paper, IMO) Luckily we did purchase an apartment last year and that is some sort of relationship milestone/progress that the CO may want to see (though I was trying to save that for 801 evidence that we will need to submit very soon?! and if so, what evidence can i possibly produce by the end of this year stating that our relationship has progressed?!) So I do plan to upload all the utility bills from lodgement till present, bank statements of our joint account from lodgement till present and the apartment purchase agreement. I am not too sure what else can I possibly include on top of the above though? And really, what if we are just financially unable to purchase a property? like i mean, not everyone is able to/foolish enough to purchase a property here in Sydney when the housing affordability is at its new low?! and to be honest, once and when your relationship is at a more settled stage, you don't tend to do as much of extravagant activities with your other half, you live a stable life like a long term stable couple would, and not everyone wants/can have a baby. Anyone else got a similar request from immi? what else would you include if you were me? |
