Could be a case officer but based on peoples previous experience and time lines slim chance it is very soon.

Most have been looking at around 12 months at the moment.

Requested to swap to bridging via B in late October 2015 in order to go home for Xmas and to deal with some Italian bureaucracy.
Went home for 2 weeks, had to be back in Australia before the 21st of Jan.
Police check requested the 28th of Jan  ( I didn't had it uploaded still as i knew the waiting time for partner temporary visa were over 12/15 months).
Uploaded the document yesterday, now waiting for a decision... super stressed and full of hope at the same time!
Do you think everything went faster because of the bridging visa request?
Anyone knows how many days they take to make the decision after document are provided?

I've seen people waiting 2-3 months after submitting requested documents, so you still have a little while to wait. Anyways, any movement on your application is always good so consider yourself lucky.

I applied in May 2015 and have yet to be contacted, though I have already done police checks and medicals. I recently received bridging visa B so we can travel overseas for 2 weeks. I'm hoping that once we return and I upload vacation pics/evidence and additional bills etc then my visa will be granted within a few months.

Hi all. I just received an email from immi for additional information, and it showed in the email the name of the case officer. Does that mean that she is my case officer?

It could be, but often applications are assigned to teams so you may hear from more than one person over the course of the process.

hi everyone,

my partner and i are in the process of waiting for the partner visa to be granted.
I am Australian and she is from Germany here on a working visa. Currently her working holiday visa has expired and now are on the BVA.

i have a few questions as contacting the immigration is just useless. 2 hour long waits on the phone etc.

- can my partner study longer then 3-4 months on the BVA?
- can my partner start a traineeship etc?
-If we apply for the BVB will that allow more then 1 exit and entry of australia.

thanks :)

Hi,

I applied May 2015. It's up to you when you wish to upload medicals/PC since it's been more than 6 months since you applied. The documents usually lasts one year and processing time is 12-15 months.

1. No restrictions on study
2. Since there's no restrictions on work, study then don't see a reason why this would be a problem, unless it's industry related i.e. they require Australian citizens/permanent residents only.
3. If you request multiple entries and outline when you need to be outside Australia, DIBP will facilitate you as best as possible; BVB typically ranges from 1-6 months. If you need to travel multiple times within one year over an extended period then you may need to apply for BVB more than once.
