They should grant you 801 straight away.

Sorry no one can tell you how much longer it will be. When security checks are involved noone can tell you how long it will take - not even DIBP.

Security checks are form 80. They take forever for very high risk countries ie. Lebanon, Yeman, Syria, Pakistan, Afghanistan etc.

Noone knows what it is involved in them as they are security checks and a secret.

DIBP don't even know how long they take, they find out when they come back from ASIO.

I think you can send a email to ask your case officer for any updat of your application, and inquiry her if you can be straight to get 801 as it is over 2 years since you logged your application.

Yes it is normal when security checks are involved. They have to wait for the security checks to come back, there is no way around it.

Just remember to collate documents together in like types so you don't use as many upload slots. I have seen a few posts lately of people reaching the maximum under the applicant. If done correctly you should not reach 60 docs.

Thanks for your help! I've actually compiled all documents into like type PDF's (e.g. Applicants proof of identity, Financial aspect, Nature of household, etc.) and have a "title page" and then numbered the corresponding pages so the CO knows what is what... I was worried I did it wrong after reading some people's 60 doc uploads- I will probably only have 10-15 documents! ha Phew (They are all under 5mb too. Thank goodness for file compressors)

Fantastic!!

What file compressor did you use? I have yet to find one to shrink my PDF for holiday photos so have had to compile all holiday photos in separate pdf's for our 801 as each trip was just on 5mb.

I just used Compress PDF – Reduce your PDF Online for Free

My "Social Aspect" PDF was originally 45MB and it compressed it down to 7.5MB (to which I just split into two documents). I think there were about 10 photos plus all the other information, it's crazy how large picture files are!
