Hi Lutenisa,

Where did you lodge your visa application? Sydney or Melbourne? Did you receive any general email regarding your visa application is in the queue? Thanks

Wink Waiting for 820 from Jan 2015

Hi guys,

Having read through your cases, I feel less stressful and impatient because some of you even are waiting for such a longer time than me for 820 onshore.
I married to my Australian husband in 2014. We lodged our application in Jan 2015 in Melbourne. Till Jan 2016, an officer was allocated to my case and required for only 2 documents: the untranslated Vietnam police check (I had on hand so submitted it straight away) and the medical check (I submitted the result 7 days after).
Now it's Mar 2016 and I am still on BVB. I called up the immigration department to ask if I need to provide more documents. They just asked me to wait till 15 months. If nothing comes up, I need to check with them again.
Unfortunately, waiting time is pretty stressful for me when I have to be PR to get an accounting job these days. Also, I really want to visit my parents overseas but can't book airfare in advance. In fact, I can travel on my BVB but it will delay the processing of 820 when I am overseas. So in the past, I regretfully cancelled 2 flight tickets just to stay and wait for 820.
Well I guess that's life so we should "just enjoy the show"

Good luck to all of us!
I will update how I go when the time comes.

T.

Honestly unless you qualify for 801 upfront you will still need to wait another 12 months after your 801 eligibility date to get PR anyway.

Yup, just a couple of days left and we will reach the 15 months mark. Feeling exactly the same ...

I contacted them by email a couple of weeks ago but just received a generic answer that - unless I am waiting more than 15 months already - I won't receive an answer ...

Such a long wait. But yes, on a positive note, this means less evidence for the 801 application which is literally only 9 months from now. ..

Hang in there, hope we will see some development soon

I'm in the same boat. It will be 15 months on Thursday for me. I e-mailed them 2 weeks ago and I am still awaiting a response. It said that it takes 2 weeks to reply so I thought by the time they replied it would be 15 months so hopefully i'll get an update although I do think it will be a generic response.

I know there will be a massive backlog for December because the fees went up but it's a bit strange that people who applied much later are now getting responses. A colleague of mine applied in April of 2014, 4 months after me and he has just been assigned a case officer
