Hi Mish,
Is it the case for all PMV holder applying 820? Or is it just the case that you lodged 820 app before the initial medical for PMV expires?

Just like to get this clarified because I am likely going to be applying for the 820 before the PMV health check expires. ANd I hate to re-take the medicals. It's expensive in Australia!

I believe all. It is in the check list for 820 that only required when coming from pmv if the co asks for it.

My husbands have expired and we aren't getting them redone unless told to (which I believe we won't).

I am still in the middle of doing ours. Was slack and only sent off for our marriage certificate last night lol. I believe we should get it next week as certificates in qld take only a week to come in the mail (or less).

But 1 tip I will say is make sure you keep everything from pmv (ours was already on the computer) that way you just need to add a few paragraphs on to the statement.

Also just relax too for everyone coming from a pmv as you have already been determined to be a genuine couple so all they need to do is check you have gotten married and living together like a married couple.

Some may not have joint things especially if only been living together a little while and one not working but don't sweat it as I believe Aussieboy didn't as his wife was not working and he just wrote how he supports her and they got approved . Much easier coming from the pmv.

Great Stuff, Mish. All the best to your hubby with the 820 app.

Re your tip 1, are you saying when applying for 820, the supporting evidences will need to go way back to include things from PMV's app?

We will be living together in Australia from early June onwards, and will likely to get married in August and lodge the 820 app straight after. Do you reckon IMMI will view this as only living together for a short time before marriage and hence not looking the application in our favour?

How long do people usually wait from arriving to Australia and getting Marriage, within the 9 months PMV expiration?

Everything for your relationship needs to be submitted so think of it as a brand new application.

I think when coming from a pmv they look at things differently. They know you can only live together for a short period of time. Also immi know they some people due to religious reasons cannot live together before marriage. Each couple has different ways of showing how they have combined their lives together ie. Super etc. Next of kin for work.

Not everyone will have joint bank accounts and bills together and immi should recognise this (my ex and I were together for over 5 years and never had anything joint!). I would also assume that you having not beem in oz long when you submit the application you might not have a job so your partner will support you. Those things just write in a statement on how you are supported.

Thanks Dangermouse! We actually applied for our 820 the same day you did. So now it's just waiting and hoping it happens quickly! :-)
