Given that it is the first of the month, I get a feeling this is one of those generic emails to everyone that I have heard about. My partner submitted her application at the end of July 2015 so we are expecting at least another few months to go at least before we actually hear something.

Sounds very similar to the email we received in October with the exception that ours also said the application was being transferred to Perth for processing. We were finally contacted by our case officer in Feb - so don't be surprised if it still takes a few more months, but it's always good to hear that your application is progressing (and hasn't gotten lost in the system).

I got some good news on Thursday with regards to my husband's visa application, we were having some issues with regards to his ex refusing to allow his daughter to undergo the medical check required for non-migrating dependent children.

I emailed our case officer a few weeks ago about this, and was informed that we had to submit a statement detailing our efforts to obtain the medical, and submit any evidence we had re this (such as emails from her mother).

Our case officer phoned on Thursday to clarify that this needed to be an official stat dec rather than just a statement and also informed me that he was satisfied that our relationship satisfied the requirements to skip the 820 and have the 801 granted immediately (we've been married 9 years).

One other thing he asked for was details of our relationship after we arrived in Australia (we only submitted evidence up to the date we submitted which was 1 week after we arrived), now I'm not sure if this is because we're effectively skipping the 2nd stage processing (I believe this is one of the things that is submitted once eligible for 801 processing) or just because we've been here 15 months or what....everything else sounded good - so hopefully once I have that last bit of evidence submitted (just waiting on the emails to come back from the translator) we should be good to go.....

While I don't want to get too excited yet - seems like we're almost at the end of the process.....

So I applied for 19 Dec 2014, and am still waiting for word back on 820. Havn't heard anything since October when I got an email stating that the application has been transferred to the DIBP Perth Office as part of an internal allocation of work. However I have me E-medical Referral Letter. Should I be getting this medical completed? I remember reading that it was best to do this once assigned a CO.

I also found I'm unable to add any additional information to my application on immiaccount, anyone else having these issues?

My CO happens to in Perth, while I'm in Melbourne. I'm seeing the pattern here. :D

Hi guys.

I thought id just come and thank all of you for your help in regards to my husbands partner visa. I didnt post much but while i was getting everything together i would come through about 3 times a day to find out how to do things as we couldnt afford a migration agent or anything.
After applying in June 2014, we were approved last Month on the 8th of March. 18months we waited as my husband had been in trouble with the law in his country when he was younger but in the end, we were approved. Ive never been so happy as i was when i opened that email
We sent in a paper application to the sydney office.
... we are definitely counting our lucky stars !!!
You guys helped me so much and you didnt even know it
Thank you !!!!

Hi All,

I am sponsoring my UK partner.

Application: Partnership 830 onshore
Type: Online
Logment date: 30 October 2015
Police Checks: 30 October 2015
Medical: 15 March 2016

Playing the waiting game.

Has anyone had any troubles with the 12 month 'defacto' requirement before applying? We had only been living together offically for 7 months before applying- moved in together in April 2015 and applied 30 Oct 2015. (He moved over here for me in Nov 2014 we just didn't live together). This would be the only thing I am concerned about. Obviously by time the application gets assigned we would have been living together for well over 12 months by then so not sure if it will matter?

Thanks!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but no, you must have been de facto for 12 months minimum AT THE TIME OF APPLYING.
Unless you have already registered your relationship before applying?

I would highly recommended speaking to a Migration agent ASAP to see what they recommend... and try posting the same thing to the "ask Mark" sticky thread...
Sorry :(

Thanks Tashpotato. Shame :( Might take your advice and contct our immigration lawyer. They said at the beginning it should be fine so now I am unsure.
How do you know of this? Has this happened to you or do you know of any others that it has happened to?
