Hey all I please need your help. I received an enquiry from immigration today to supply a police certificate from my home country which should list my old family name from a former marriage on it. I changed my name back to my maiden name long before I even came to Australia. I called the authorities back in my home country and they confirmed, that this is not possible and that a police check can only be issued under my current name and would always show the record of me including former names. It is not possible to state these former names on the police check though. Name changes are automatically forwarded to the federal central criminal register so any offences would still be listed on my current police check - no matter what my name is today.

Anybody with similar issues?

My application would be ready for decision, immigration just wants this policy check with my former name on it which I am unable to provide.

Thanks for any help and advise!!!!

hello
looking for some help. I have my prospective marriage visa and just recently married. Im now needing to file for my partners visa. after spending 90mins on hold with immi. I got no answers. I was told to redo the 820 with 888 forms all of which I did when filling out the 300. This doesnt sound right since when I filled out the 300 it shows that it is also the 820 app. What do I next? I logged in on to my immiacct and it show first stage complete (300/820) second stage perm. partner. Am I doing the perm partner visa or am I really having to redo the 300/820?

Hi Butterfly,
I recommend posting your question in the Ask Mark thread to ensure you get some professional input. I'd want to approach this one with seriousness and in the correct manner.

Hi everyone, Quick question. We are coming up to the 11 month mark and we received the email in Feb stating that visa could be reviewed if all finalised by end of April. We originally uploaded all of our information between June and September last year. Do you recommend continually updating more and more details in Your immi account, like bank details, more photographs etc to show more up to date evidence up to today? Thank you for any feedback you can provide!

Hi,

It certainly wouldn't hurt to upload current evidence as quite often DIBP requests evidence to show that the relationship/marriage is ongoing. I received emails twice since January re progression in the queue & I have since uploaded new evidence. I'm hoping for visa grant without any contact from CO.

Thank you!!! I posted it to the Ask Mark thread and I hope to receive some feedback on the issue. So worried about it. I sent an email to my CO as well to inform them that a police check with my former name on it is not obtainable. Immigration has all legal documents that certify my name changes and police records from my home country and from Australia. Just hoping this issue will get solved asap.
