So I got my 820 granted today after 15 months. Bit of background. I arrived on a E-visitor. Applied in Feb 2015. Medical in Mar 2015. Case officer got in contact in Feb 2016 asking for AFP PC. AFP PC provided Mar 2016. CO emailed again looking for the Form 80 late Mar 2016 which I provided immediately. And then silence for a week. And then she emails me again , looking for a police clearance from the UK. Finally I submitted the UK police clearance last week. Again silence for a week. I emailed again today asking for an update and if they have received the UK PC. Got the 820 within 30 minutes of sending that email.. so well happy ..

Congratulations!! Now onto the 801 wait! I'm still waiting for mine, applied a few months after you but got a generic email for more info in april and updated all info already.. Just rather (im)patiently waiting. Glad to hear more and more people are getting approved recently.

Hi. I kind of have the same issue when I applied because I arrived to Australia on January 2015 and I applied on december 2015. However, we have decided to start a de facto relationship since 2013, so we have attached our own stat decs, emails, witnesses stat decs, all of them refering the beginning of our de facto relationship was in 2013.

I talked to an agent and he told me that as far as you can prove that you have been together and only have been separate temporally, then the 12 months thing it is not problem.

If you have any kind of evidence (i think that proof of the same address since march 2015 is a good idea), just attached that with some explanation.

Congrats BritInPerth. My partner and I applied for our temporary Visa at the end of July last year, so we are 10 months down and by the looks of it there are another 5 to go at least - I really didn't think it would actually take the whole (at the time) indicative time of 12 months, let alone 15. Haven't heard anything except the standard email at the start of April that everyone seemed to get. Just hope everything in the application was OK!

Hiya! I think I applied 2 weeks before you (mid july). Haven't heard anything either so if it's 15 months max then we have till October *cries* before we hear anything. Hopefully though, we got everything sent in on time to maybe get evaluated before the end of the financial year?

Let me know if you hear anything??

It's been 12 months since I lodged 820, so I decided to call DIBP yesterday for possibly obtaining updates on my application (wishful thinking). After waiting 2hrs, (yes, 2hrs! - had the phone on speaker while I did other things) a polite rep told me that the average wait time is up to 15 months for 75% of partner visa applicants. She did have a look at my file and said no case officer has been allocated yet, but I should hear from them soon.

Hmmm.... the waiting continues.

Hi Syd,

I feel your frustration, we have been waiting 14 months and 15 days....really hoping we hear soon. I called around 2 weeks ago and the lady said very reluctantly that we should hear in 2 weeks, nothing yet....Will keep you in the loop.
