We heard nothing until the auto email earlier this year saying we need to get any previously requested docs submitted by April, for a potential June assessment.

As we had not been requested of anything yet we queried via email and phone. Phone wasn't much help. We received an email reply (eventually) saying sorry for the delay in responding, a preliminary check over your application shows we still needed x, y and z documents. We got these docs sorted the next few days and submitted them, still before the April cut off.

I've noticed recently that our application shows as 'In Progress' finally, and when I click on 'View medical assessment' it takes me to the following:
"This person is required to complete health examinations for this visa application. Click on the link below to organise these health examinations. Once this person's health examinations results have been assessed by the department this page will be updated to reflect this. Note: If this person does not complete the required health examinations the visa application can be refused."

We had been waiting for an actual request to get the medical done, based on advice read on this forum. Should we consider this the request? They didn't ask in the email and we had been waiting before arranging it. But we are into the 15th month awaiting the 820...so if we do arrange it now surely it won't have time to expire and need another one done in 12 months?
Hello 100% get the medical done. We applied in March 2015 and had the medical done in May 15, we were approved May 16.

Hey I applied on the 14th July so a week before you, and similarly I got a request for new police checks and a birth cert for my partner on the 7th May and had them uploaded by the 18th May. I also haven't heard anything else since! Hoping it's very soon!

But I haven't heard anything since then! Just wondering if there are any other fellow applicants around the same time and their progress.

TIA.
Hi there, I applied for the 820 application on the 15th of July 2015. Received a generic e-mail requesting for more information on the 1st of April, sent through last remaining documents on the 26th of April and haven't heard anything from them since then. I am going through immigration lawyers though so I can't check myself for any updates on my immiaccount. Still just sitting and waiting anxiously

Did you actually get a request from a CO or was it sort of almost auto-generated? Sounds like they're actually going through your file now! I applied a day after you so I'm really really hoping that if they are looking through your file, that mine won't be far away

Hey, yep when they got in contact about the new police checks - it was from my assigned case officer, so not a generic response. So I presumed (probably somewhat naively) that they had gone through my file at that stage in order to see what they needed so I hoped once I'd uploaded those files it'd be pretty quick. However, my Immiaccount is still on "Application Received" and hasn't changed to "In Progress" or anything. I'm hoping that one day I'll just get a mail to let me know the outcome, and hopefully it's good! I know mine's been processed in their London DIBP office so every morning when I wake up I'm rushing to check my emails to see if there's been any word overnight, I'll let you know if I hear anything

Are there any other September 2015 applicants out there? And if yes, has anyone heard anything yet (apart from the generic BVA email?)

We'll be travelling in September in order to get married and I'm now wondering when I should apply for the BVB? Is it usually granted pretty much straight away? I'm worried they'll make a decision while we're out of the country!

I think the immi account status thing isn't the best to go by from what I've read on the forum. I was hoping to squeeze into the last of the quotas for this financial year but it seems we might possibly manage to get in around the first 2 months of the new financial year?

Where are you based/where did you apply from? I wonder why London DIBP is processing your file and not in aus itself?

They wont make a decision while you're out of the country. If they go to grant your visa and there's a BVB in place they will wait until the travel facility expires and you're in Australia.

I applied for three BVB's before my 820 was granted. First one took three weeks, second one took Eight weeks (it was just before Christmas so I imagine it was busy) Third one took three weeks again.

I was very organised though and applied well before my travel dates, if you apply close to the intended date you plan to leave they might grant it quicker.

I'm based in Sydney and applied online. I think it's just another office they can use for online applications I guess!
