What are the documents they requested CJaus? IS that your first correspondence from them?

None of which was the aus police check which I hadn't done. I have initiated it now based on reading everyone elses posts. A bit concerned too because it appears they are only looking at 820 but my husband and I have been married for 2 years and together for 5 so I thought both would be done at once.... sigh... it may be a long wait still...

Yes this was the first from a CO (I had the hurry up auto Apr doc that everyone else was talking about)- the CO asked for - 40sp , 2x 888, and some evidence of relationship with spouse.

I don't have docs like utilities or rent ect as my hubby pays all of those and they are in his name - I just provided a word document outlining how our house is run from day to day and future goals such as buying a house etc.

I also applied on Feb 2015, and they requested for a medical and AFP a month ago and still no news.. What evidence did they request is it for evidence before the application or if the relationship is still on going?

The medical was done and requested months ago and was flagged in a generic email or online through the immi acct - cant remember now. Then there has been nothing since until now - they didn't specify timeframe of the info - It covers both really - the 888s in short - say yes we have known they are married and hold themselves out to be and are still in a committed relationship...

The request was clear that this was pertaining to an 820 request though and did not mention 801 at all which worries me ...

Yes I think I got lucky. My 820 got approved short of 12 months of waiting. Of course now it's the long trek towards the 801. I believe the backlog is still on and it might be 12 months from eligibility date so that's another 2 years of waiting. Oh well, keep on trekking!!

Always good to check out forums and everything else to find out what you need. This forum is rather informative and I found people to be quite helpful as well!

Hi guys,

Thanks for providing me with remote support over the past couple of months while I waited impatiently for the results of my 820/801 visa application.

I applied for the 820 visa in January 2015, 17++ months later, and with much pain and trepidation, I have just been granted the 801 visa, bypassing the 820.

As a same sex couple, this has came as nothing short of a surprise.

Hang in there guys, I am sure positive news would find the rest of you soon.

cheers.

Hi everyone, just letting you all know that today my husband was approved for his 820 finally!!!
We are very happy as its the most stressful part (I believe) of the whole application. The first decision.
Thank you to all that helped and this forum is amazing! Good luck to everybody still waiting for a decision!
