Was trying to delete this, as I accidentally hit the wrong thing. My computer's being silly.

Smile Approved!

Hi

Thanks for all your posts and help to be able to patiently wait for my 820 to be approved. I applied from a low risk country (portugal) and I took 17 months and a week to get it finally today. I'm so happy. I called a couple of times to request an update after the 15 month mark and they always told me to keep holding on. To all of you waiting be patient and I'm sure if it's genuine you'll get the email when you least expect it! Good luck and thanks forum for existing !

Bridging A

Hi everyone!

I've applied for 820 in Feb 2016, now on bridging A and I cannot leave the country until the visa is granted.

I've a few questions hopefully someone can help me!

1. Has anyone applied for bridging visa B to leave the country for 2-4 weeks. Would that affect or delay my application (re-queue)?

2. Once bridging B granted, I assume bridging A would be cancelled. When I return to Australia, do I need to re-apply for bridging A?

Thanks!!

Approved!

Hi guys,

Woke up to great news on Saturday morning - my 820 was approved! Really delighted

My info: Applied on the 14th July 2015. Heard from my case officer who was based in the London office of the DIBP on the 6th May to request new police checks and a birth cert for my other half. I uploaded those within a couple of weeks, and didn't hear anything else until I got the visa grant letter dated the 8th July!

Now onto waiting to apply for the 801! Best of luck to those still waiting, hopefully it won't be too long. Since the new financial year there seems to have been a good few granted, so hopefully not much longer to wait

Congrats!

Does anyone know if a lot of visas like this are being processed offshore? Is it due to the large quantities?

And with Bridging Visa B - no you don't need to reapply for A. It's only the travel facility that expires.

Got an email today asking for an updated AFP police check as my previous one has expired and that a CO will be assigned shortly. Anyone else get a similar email lately?

No, no email for me yet.

When did you do your police check? When did you apply?

Hello everyone - question for any Canadians living in Aus ---- I have been just asked for my police checks. I did the Aus one, but I need a Cdn one which involves fingerprints but online they say fingerprints cant be sent electronically from here and there is a wait of up to 22 weeks for ones sent via paper. Anyone go through this process and have any hints on the best way to get this done? Much appreciated!!
