Hi guys!

I have a clarifications.
I applied 820 online. I received confirmation and BVA after few sec. Already submitted my husband's sponsorship form as well using same account but I uploaded all docs in my application, I hope I am right.

My question, the sponsorship form status is just "submitted", almost 2weeks already since I submitted. Is this normal or should it be "received" status same as mine.

And also, am I in the waiting stage already or there's are still stuff I need to do in this 820 application. I will appreciate much all your help.

Thanks in advance.

1.) I know it said that if you've already submitted certain documents that you don't have to again, but do you think it's worth re-sending everything again? (I'm paranoid!) Documents like Form 888, etc, do I have to get 2 new ones?

2.) I am travelling overseas (with my bridging visa B) on the 1st week of August and won't be back until the end of August. Is there a certain time window or deadline for additional documents after receiving this e-mail? I am worried they will not wait for my documents! :'(

3.) Am I the only one freaking out after receiving this e-mail?! LOL

Thank you in advance guys!
No, I definitely wouldn't resend all the documents you have already sent, I see you submitted yours on paper and I assume you sent it by registered mail? I'm always of the opinion, give them what they ask for but don't make their work harder by giving them duplicates.

I'm not freaking out but I'm excited it's progressing!

Hi ardale4ever

Don't worry, my sponsorship status has just been submitted too for 10 months now. I don't think this will change until you get approved.

I wrote a blog post with all the information about my 820 visa, so I can definitely help if you have any questions.

Hello guys,
i was wondering if you could help me out somehow.
I've applied for a 820 visa on the 7th of august 2015. received my request to do my medicals on April 2016 (8 months after) and received an email saying that my visa will be assessed soon. I haven't heard anything since April.
Wondering if this sort of timeframe/process like this happened to any of you.
I met my partner in 2012 and been in Australia since.
I applied in Perth.

thanks,
A.

Hi there,

Yeah I'm in the same boat, similar time frame as you for application and email in April, did my medicals in May, still waiting.

I've already posted this over in the 'Form 80 - Guidance Notes' thread but not sure how active that still is...

Question 49 of Form 80:
Are you being sponsored by, or associated with, a business or
organisation in Australia?

I'm currently on a 457 but we have applied for an 820/801 visa. Do I put my employer's details down for this, even if they have nothing to do with my 820 application? Or do I tick 'No'?

Application Approved!!

Applicant: Myself, from England, was previously on a student visa, applied online. 26 yo female.
Sponsor: My partner, Australian citizen since birth. Never sponsored before. Also had no idea the complexities and stress of immigration processes *rolling eyes*. 27yo male

Date submitted: 21st July 2015.
Date of start of de facto relationship: Nov 2013, was the date we said we were de facto with rental documents to prove that of living arrangements. We started 'dating' in May 2013, and had known each other since 2012 and met in a bar.

Date Approved: 29th July 2016 - 12 months and 8 days!!!

No communication other than 'please submit your health checks and police checks' No late-night drop-ins, no phone calls, no interviews. NOTHING! Must be something to do with the new financial year.

I submitted everything under the sun I could think of, I submitted 57 documents, and 40 (ish) under my partner's side. We had 12 x Form 888 forms (from both sides of the relationship - my work and study friends and his family and friends) and I even submitted a phone record from Telstra outlining our calls to each other and how long they went for. (I only did this for a few randomly selected months to not inundate them!). I showed them all I could, whilst maintaining some dignity and privacy over our life - for example, we spent a week apart in Feb 2016 where I had to fly to Singapore to cremate and repatriate my father. I did not include our skype/email/facebook/whatsapp communication during this time. I examined my evidence and felt that it was too personal - I would have given it to them if they asked but they didn't! I also never mentioned our sex life - I would have if they asked, but I felt that was up to me.

I cannot tell you how happy I was, I cried. We have been through so much in the past 6 months and really needed something to start going right - and smoothly!

Off to buy some champagne!!!
