Aku juga, Caecelia. 17 months, 1 week. I emailed them two weeks ago, then called last week. They advised that they'd just started reviewing the application and requested the background check from ASIO.

Hello,

I am a bit confused in terms of how this works. I am gonna apply for the 820 in two months time and getting everything prepared now. I have an immi account and I will lodge the application from there. When I submit everything, how can the sponsor submit his form from there when that is actually my Immi account? Is there a specific link for him? Or does he need to make his own Immi account?

I applied 820 online. I received confirmation and BVA after few sec. Already submitted my husband's sponsorship form as well using same account but I uploaded all docs in my application, I hope I am right.

My question, the sponsorship form status is just "submitted", almost 2weeks already since I submitted. Is this normal or should it be "received" status same as mine.

And also, am I in the waiting stage already or there's are still stuff I need to do in this 820 application. I will appreciate much all your help.

Thanks in advance.

He can either:
(1) make his own ImmiAccount login, and start a sponsor application referencing your application number; or
(2) in your ImmiAccount under 'My Applications' start a new application, type 'Sponsorship for a Partner to Migrate to Australia (300,309/100,820/801)', and enter his information into that application.

I recommend the second option as it will make it easier for you to monitor the status of each application and to switch between applications to upload documents (we uploaded all docs related to the sponsor under the sponsor application, so that we didn't run out of slots under the applicant as quickly).

Maggie May started a thread with the official information from DIBP on what the different statuses mean and at what point in the process you will see them: http://www.australiaforum.com/858426-post1.html

Thank you. Not it makes much more sense to me. I guess its easier to figure it all out once you start actually doing it on the website.

I have a few more questions if you dont mind, since you seem to be quite knowledgeable of this stuff.

1) I am not totally certain of what documents exactly I need to get certified for an online application. I believe we will have to certify our passports, birth certificates, drivers license and the Registered Relationship Certificate and upload only the certified copies? Other than that, do I need to certify our individual and joint bank statements, electricity/gas bills, phone bills, car insurance policy etc?

2) Since this April we are living in a house where we got both names on a one year lease, but before that we lived in a different house for over a year with only his name on the lease. So I will be proving that will lived together during that year by scanning and uploading letters we have received individually in the same address to prove that we have lived together throughout different months.I will upload letters from the bank I have received at the given address throughout different months, as well as electricity and gas bills under both of our names. My question is, before I scan and upload everything, should I be highlighting dates on top of the individual bank letters, joint electricity and gas bills etc, to make it easier for the CO to see the dates belonging to different months, since in some letters the date is not in the headline and one must look through the letter?

3) Filling out the online Application for migration to Australia by a partner, one of the last questions is: "Has the applicant been in any previous relationships with persons other than the sponsor?" I had a relationship which ended two years before I met my current partner, but it was just a boyfriend and girlfriend kind of relationship, were were never defacto or at the partner level, we were just college dates. If I answer yes, its asking me to give details such as my ex boyfriends name, date of birth etc. How should I answer this question? When they ask about relationships, do they mean de facto or partner level relationships or any kind of relationships? Also the following question after that is: " Has the sponsor been in any previous relationships with persons other than the applicant?" Again, my partner had a girlfriend a few years before we met, they were in high school. How should we answer this?
Thank you in advance.

Ejona, when they refer to previous partnerships they mean at a de facto or marriage level, not regular girlfriend/boyfriend situations.

As for getting things certified, you actually hardly need to get anything certified if you are applying online. Colour scans of original documents are sufficient for just about everything with only a couple of exceptions. Stat decs (eg Form 888s) do have to be witnessed and stamped by an authorised person and I think the copies of the passports of the 888 witnesses get certified; we got both done at the same time. Run a search in the forum to find threads relating to online applications for tips on uploading documents and about what needs to be certified.

Thank you for that. I was under the impression that I would still have to certify and scan and upload certified copies of main identity documents. This make it even easier. Thanks for your time

HIGHLIGHTING

1) Since this April my partner are I are living in a house where we got both names on a one year lease, but before that we lived in a different house for over a year with only his name on the lease. So I will be proving that we lived together during that year by scanning and uploading letters we have received individually in the same address to prove that we have lived together throughout my stay there. My question is, before I scan and upload everything, should I highlight the dates on top of the individual letters, joint bills etc, to make it easier for the CO to see the dates belonging to different months, since the whole point of uploading these letters is for the CO to see that they have been sent to the given address throughout different months, otherwise some of the letters would be irrelevant to the application.

2) Do you recommend providing phone bills and highlighting my partner's number is a good idea, so that the CO can see that we have kept in daily contact?
