Thanks

Hi Superexcited - thanks for sharing your details in this thread. And congrats, if I did not say it earlier. Cheers...

Time line:
PMV granted: Oct 2013
First entry to Australia: Dec 2013 (stayed for 2 weeks. 1 week pre wedding, 1 week post wedding)
Married: Dec 2013 (in home country)
Final move to Australia: March 2014
Submitted 820 application: 05/05/2014
820 granted: 13/05/2014 (7 working days)
Processing office: Perth, WA

Below are some Interesting facts that may provide some more insight into some of the controversial topics. Remember each person's case is peculiar.
- I was still uploading supporting documents up until yesterday, 1 hour before the grant (passport photo and evidence of Australian residence).
- I was yet to upload any evidence under "nature of household"
- Majority of the supporting evidence were in my husband's name but I provided a cover letter explaining each (eg. utilities' accounts were set up prior to my arrival)
- All of my supporting docs were merged into pdf files. I provided a lot of photos in picmix (is that what it's called)format. These included wedding photos, photos with family members, photos of both of us etc
- Most of the supporting documents were uploaded under my section and only about 5 documents under my husband's section (key documents eg. passport, birth cert etc)
- As previously suggested by someone here (Mish? or star hunter?), I also uploaded screenshots of my facebook page showing some of my status updates/ photos relating to my relationship/marriage and I highlighted the number of likes and comments
- Evidence of continued communication during period of separation included phone records from Rebtel (highlighting call frequency and duration), printouts of whatsapp chats, facebook messages, emails, etc
- None of my supporting documents (except the forms 888) were certified. I provided only two 888 forms: one from my sis-in-law and another from a mutual friend (both Aussie citizens)
- Most of my documents were scanned in color but a few were black and white (and not certified)

These are the few I can remember. Good luck to all who are still waiting.

Hi there. I lodged my 820/801 application on Aug 2013, together with Police check. This week I received further request by Immi to submit the AFP check, despite the fact that I have only been in Aussie for less than a year. Is it a sign that they actually take a look at my application?

820 granted today, 4 days short of 1 year.

Applied May 2013, Sydney office. Never heard from them except at the 8 month mark when there was an auto generated email requesting for more documents if I've not submitted them. And one fine day, I received a notice of grant email.

Keep on waiting, sometimes no news is good news.

Newbie here ...

Like all other in the waiting waiting waiting phase ....

Posted application 4 November 2013 (Melbourne)
Bridging Visa A approved 6 November 2013

don't expect to hear anything till November this year at least

Not too fussed about the wait really, know that we are a "genuine relationship", married, live together and have stacks of evidence/stat decs from friends & family to back it up

Only thing that I am nervous about is my wifes Police Check from China. She picked up a new one when she went back home in June 2013 to settle her affairs and according to DIBP they want a PC of 12 months or less so that Chinese PC expires next month

Hopefully won't need a new one as have to do it in person and she has no desire to fly back to China just to get a Police Check and she hasn't been back to China in the past 12 months to commit felonies anyway

Last week posted in form 929 to update a new passport & 1022 to advise of a change of name (deed poll name to Englishsise her name) + added another Form 888 & update of what has happened in the past 6 months between us. Nothing updated on VEVO as of now about the new name or new passport details. After a week should I be concerned? Was registered post so know it was delivered

A friend of mine, a PR, was requested by DIBP Sydney office, to fill up a form 424c with accompanying evidence, for a change of name instead. The whole process approximately a month.

one phone call i was told to fill out a 1022 another phone call said to fill 424c

so i just followed the website advice and did the 1022 as she is in the 'application process' ... god knows if it is right or not

called up DIBP today to ask if they updated name/passport and was told they couldn't tell me anything because of "privacy reasons" and my wife must call them (despite me being the authorised rep) or send them an email .... which I then did and automated email came back says they will reply to the email in 4 weeks!

4 weeks just to answer an email question .... yowzers

update ...

wifey home from work and she called them up (after spending 45 minutes on hold) and was told that 1022 is OK to update her name and it will take "a few weeks to process and be actioned on VEVO"
