Not sure if that will make a difference or not...or if he'll have to do a separate one. I also have to have my AFP for my teaching certification, so was planning on using the same one for the visa as well. Would be interested in hearing if we have to have one that says for immigration purposes or not.
I applied in January and my police checks will be from July, September and October so really hope they're still in date when we get processed! Wanted our application to be decision ready though. If we don't get processed till next October it'll be almost time for PR!

Someone on here said they didn't translate their Spanish police check so think I'm going to risk that as the other two say that I'm innocent

Did you ask the AFP for the Code 33 AFP Check?

Ours didn't mention immigration either.

It looks like this: (and was accepted for visa grant)

Not sure what code it was under as I originally applied for one for working with people with a disability and then I got that police check through work so I managed to ring up and change the purpose of this one (I was surprised at the efficiency actually!). Don't think they mentioned a code.

But yeah, looks the same as that so hopefully it's ok. I'm sure they'll tell me if it's not. I thought I'd read somewhere that it was meant to say it was for immigration but maybe that was my British one.

Some countries Police Checks do require something more specific. The Philippine one needed it to mention Immigration and Australia.

Just had another look at my British one and it says Immigration so that must have been it.

With my Spanish one, they also gave me a UK police check as they do that for non-Spanish citizens from the EU. Could've saved myself a few pennies!

Regarding the police checks for 820 visa - I had only been in Australia for 6 months when we applied, but now have been here almost 2 years and still waiting for the visa grant.

Does anyone know if I need to do a police check for Australia now I've been here over 12 months? And add it to my application?

I would think so. From what I've seen, they will probably ask for it. I'd do it and upload it before they ask, but that's my opinion.

Wow that's a long time! How long have you been waiting? About 18 months? Any idea why it's taking so long? Makes me worried!

We have been waiting for 15 months and no idea why it's taking so long! It's a simple application and I'm from a low risk country. It's a stressful process but really hoping for an answer before Christmas.

Hope yours is quicker

I'm from the same country as you which is what makes me worried! Hope you hear something soon. If you have to wait much longer, you'll be eligible for PR!
