Congratulations!

One year and one day and I'm still waiting. Not a peep out of immigration. They would get in touch if they required more info, right? Not sure what else we can give but it would be good to hear something from them.

Hi guys, long time lurker here. After almost 15 months, I've finally received an email (aside from confirmation) from immigration which was a request for more information.
There was only one form requested, and while reading the email I assumed it was the 80SP, as I've seen other applicants from low risk countries having to fill it out. However, I was a bit surprised to see it was actually the 40SP sponsorship form! I'm a bit worried now because I distinctly remember my partner filling out the form online, and us commenting on how repetitive it was! In fact, on my immi account under applications, it has my partner's name with a "sponsorship form", and "submitted" next to it! We've been uploading his documents directly to his application submissions page....I thought you weren't allowed to do this unless you filled out the equivalent to the 40SP online??
Sorry, but I'm a bit confused and worried now. Does this mean for the last 15 months we didn't have a 40SP or sponsorship form (online or otherwise) attached? Did we have to fill out the 40SP in addition to filling out the form online all along?

EDIT: To make matters more odd, I just logged into immi, and now my partner's sponsorship application says "approved" (knock on wood)
I am from Canada and have been waiting 15 months now too (applied September 2015 onshore)....in July or August (sorry can't recall), I was asked to submit medicals and Form 80. Did that right away....then in December, was asked for one more statement....did that promptly too and when I log into immi, my partner's sponsorship application also says "approved"....it's been like that for over a month....so strange. No new contact from immi though, I check daily! I am contemplating emailing them to ask what is going on....if I don't hear something within the next couple weeks I will be emailing. I am low risk and this is a bit disheartening to see that many people are being approved much sooner than me...I have children who have migrated though, so maybe mine is taking longer due to that? No idea... but we are sure hoping to have a celebratory dinner soon!

What statement did they ask you for? How many did you submit to start?

It was a relationship statement that my husband had to upload, as we somehow overlooked it. To start, we had tons....so much evidence, documents, pictures, legal wills, superannuation beneficiaries as each other, proof we have lived together in both countries, proof of marriage, joint finances and joint bank accounts, joint purchases, shared vacations, shared parenting responsibilities, hundreds of photos, phone records during times apart, emails/text messages during times apart, facebook timelines with mutual friends, about 6 or 8 form 888 witness/stat decs from family/friends in Australia and about the same from Canada, proof I have sole custody of my children....Plus stat decs from my ex granting permission on the move, etc, etc, etc We forgot one thing, added it on...uploaded it to immi as requested, emailed them to say it was now uploaded...and got the generic email response back stating wait times, etc. I truly believed we would be approved right around the one year mark...and I have been anxiously checking/waiting since September At least my app says "assessment in progress" instead of "received"....but it has said that for some time now. None of our form 888 witnesses have been contacted, nor have me or my husband - other than when they asked for that one statement. I guess the waiting game just continues on!

My app still says received and we've just passed the year mark.
We were a bit short on Aussies to ask for the statements for various reasons apart from more from his family. We had one from his dad and brother (the one from his brother was painful to get!) and then two from the UK. I know technically we met requirements but I'm worried it wasn't enough. We did submit a whole heap of other evidence though. I've posted on here before about what we provided and people seemed to think it was enough.

Hello LittleOne,

Thanks for replying to my post with your experience...although now I'm not sure if I should be worried, relaxed, or disheartened. There was another user who, like us, was asked to submit additional evidence. They promptly did that, and their sponsor's status was changed to "approved". However, not longer than a day after submitting the evidence, they had received their grant letter. This happened about a month ago (not sure if you remember the posts). I was kind of going off of this user's experience, but now after reading your post...I'm not sure what will happen or how long I'll be waiting. Was the email you received back in July asking for medicals/form 80 an automated message or did it only ask for those two documents specifically?

I honestly wouldn't worry, worrying is the worst we can do. Especially when an applicant's wait time has passed the 12 month mark. Just think positively, if immi need any additional info...I'm sure they'll ask

I wouldn't worry. If you feel that you have submitted all the evidence that is needed, stay positive, it's just a matter of waiting. After reading these forums I saw that some people got visas approved same day they uploaded requested info, others waited for 6 months. I think it depends on your case officer. Some are faster than others, some might go on leave or put your application on the bottom of the pile and look at others. Don't worry! It will come and it will be worth the wait

The email I received back in July was the automated one -- the only things I thought we were missing was the medicals/form 80 (as police check was already submitted, etc) so we submitted those promptly. It was in December that I got the email stating my sponsor needed to submit the missing statement, so we did that then....now it has been about 1.5 months since we submitted that statement...I don't want to bother immi, but I am thinking about emailing and asking how much longer, and perhaps just inquire about why it says approved by their name. I don't know...I don't want to hinder my application in anyway either lol, I am probably overthinking things. I will keep you posted if I hear anything!

Just E-Mail and ask for confirmation that the document has been received. However they reply you will know how you stand.
