Will try to ring again tomorrow. Worst case scenario, we might get 820 straight away (my wishful thinking)!
Oh NO! This is so painful!
I don't know why is taking so long for an application to be processed!
This is absolutely ridiculous!!!!

copy from the website
"Average processing time
Temporary Partner visa (subclass 820) - 12 to 18 months.
Permanent Partner visa (subclass 801) - 12 to 18 months from the date of eligibility."

does it mean that the overall process for getting 801 will take 3 and a half years????

Correct it can take up to 3.5 years to get the 801 IF the processing times do not increase again.

There is a PMV to 820 fee which from memory is $1145 plus credit card surcharge.

They will grant a bridging visa that comes into effect when the PMV expires.

You are reading it correctly! A very long process! I am glad at least we are in the process.

Hi,
We have lodged our 820 online on 06 Feb, didn't get the BVA straightaway until the next day I checked my immi account and saw the BVA grant. It was granted on 06th Feb but late came in my hubby's inbox

And this is what I saw in my immi today:

Important reminder:
This application will be eligible for consideration for permanent residence 2 years from lodgement (commencement date).

Immi and website are not talking to each other. I don't mind if it will take that long for PR but a bit sad that it will take longer for citizenship.

IF you don't qualify for PR up front it can take 12 to 18 months after the 2 year wait.

Ok, so I received my Dept of Ed Australia National Police Check today in the post. It states that it is a National Police Check. Will this suffice for my ANP? It was through the Dept of Ed in WA...I am the one who initiated it. I'm going to upload it anyway, but wanted to see if I would need to do a separate National Police Check for my 820? TIA!
