Fingers crossed get it soon then! Hopefully you won't even hear from the case officer if you've submitted everything.

Are processing times from SA generally longer or shorter? I know Victoria is pretty bad.

I have no idea... I don't know where mine will be processed. My letter gives the general address in Canberra but that has no email address... I know some people here got their Visa from WA, but someone else I know who lives here too got her partner visa from Qld office.... so I don't know which office my application ended up in (and if it ended up in an office by now, lol).

So they don't process them in SA? A bit annoying that there's no email address on your letter. Maybe when/if you get to the emailing stage you'll just have to email all the addresses

Haha yes, I probably will have to email multiple offices. And no, I don't think they process partner visas in SA....

It's so annoying that we're from low risk countries and we see people getting their visas before us.

Personally, I think all visas should be processed in the order in which they're received, regardless of which state you're in. So once you apply, everything goes into a big pool and someone in Vic/WA/QLD wherever just picks the next one out when they need a new application to processes. Most people apply online now so what difference does it make?

A friend of mine told me yesterday that she knows someone who's doing a priority partner visa through "the best immigration lawyer in the country" and has paid a ton of money for it (said person is apparently rich). I didn't think priority existed, no matter how much money you have?

Hi SharKs,

I can understand how you feel. We are on the same boat. My partner applied in the first week of December 2015 and we have not yet heard anything. When did you apply ?

DOL : December 8, 2015
My partner has a French Passport (Low risk)
Applied online in NSW.

Sorry SharKs I wasn't trying to make you feel bad or sad, I was just sharing my excitement. My husband and I have been married 13yrs, maybe this is why I was approved so fast.

I wouldn't worry about it too much! As someone else who also has seen a few people who applied after her having their visas granted before her, I can say that we're happy for you and that you shouldn't feel bad or awkward for sharing your excitement!

We just wish our visas had also been approved!

Yes, I agree with Arabella! sorry if I made you feel bad! Am very happy for people that get their visas approved, that means at least something is happening at the DIBP, right :P?

We've only been together for about 5.5 years officially... (known each other for 6.5), of which we've lived together for 4.5 years now. I wonder if 'relationship length' has something to do with visa processing times... doubt it though.

That's longer than me and my hubby! We met in May 2012, and then spent the next year talking to each other on Facebook and Skype until I came to Australia in September 2013 and we've been together ever since. On our application we put our engagement date as the day we "excluded all others" or whatever the wording is as we didn't live together before we were engaged. Got engaged in May 2014, first lived together at my parents' house (UK) in November 2014 and got our own place in Melbourne in March 2015.

We thought about applying for de facto in November 2015 but as we were only at my parents' house it was hard to prove and waiting two months for a marriage certificate seemed sensible.
