I believe that if you had been in de Facto relationship since then and have proof that you provided to them of being together for that long, you can go staright to 801 as well. Let's see, and be positive. Just keep feeding them documents of your genuine relationship and all will be okay. :-)

Ok, getting ready to schedule medicals for myself and my sons in a week. Few questions if ya'll don't mind:

I had thyroid cancer back in 2011. Was removed, did treatment and no worries since. As of 2016, I am considered cured. Will this be an issue on my medicals? I've scoured the posts and saw others with the same or worse have no problems on their medicals. Will I need some kind of statement? The reason I ask is because I haven't seen the original doctor for all of that since 2012. I have a doctor here in Australia who I see for my medicine/blood work once or twice a year (no thyroid so have to get blood work to monitor my medicine dosage). The only medication I take is synthroid (levothyroxine). Is this something I need to be worried about? My doctor here gave me the last blood work results to take with me to my medical, but no letter or anything, as she said I shouldn't need it. Should I get one?

Is there anything to be aware of for the medicals? How long do they take? How in depth are they? I've heard different stories that some are really quick while others take hours and are more involved. Just trying to plan so that I know what to expect. This will be the last thing that I need to do for my 820 (other than wait and wait).

I'd love to hear others' experiences and all. Plus, may be helpful to others going through the process. Thanks in advance and cheers!

And i was lucky my afp check arrived on Monday afternoon and sent it that night, and today, this morning i got temporary residency granter and 4 seconds i got another email for my grant of 801 permanent!

Cheers!
Congratulations on your visas!

The thing is AFP takes over 2 weeks to be done and sent to me so I can't upload it asap. I uploaded form 80 alr so just the AFP and Medical now.

Hope I can get them uploaded soon.

Form 80 was the only thing on my checklist.

I didn't translate my Spanish police check but they haven't asked for a translation and someone on here said they never submitted the translation.

Congratulations to everyone who has gotten their grants!

We are now just over 9 months waiting and haven't heard a word from immi.

A question for those more knowledgeable or who have been in the same situation:

Since submitting the application, we are now expecting a baby and it looks like it will probably arrive before the application has been processed. Aside from informing immi of the pregnancy as further evidence of our relationship, will there be any formal requirement to inform immi (ie. notification of change in circumstances or correcting any answers in the application form)?

I'm guessing not, as the baby will be an Australian citizen so doesn't need to be added as a dependent or anything, but wanted to double check as its been a very long time now since I went through all the information with a fine tooth comb, and a baby wasn't really on the cards at the time so I didn't think much on the subject.

When you log into your immi account I think you can fill in a form and notify them if you have a 'change in circumstance'. If you're unsure I would just use this to inform them. Also maybe upload some documents to indicate you're having a baby? I would assume it would make your case stronger... but who knows. Anyway, I mainly wanted to say: Congratulations!

They replied to my email!!

They said they are currently waiting on external checks and expect my visa to be granted within the next month. They didn't answer the question about whether anything else was missing so I'll assume the Spanish police check isn't an issue.

I expect the external checks are something to do with the 11 address in 4 different countries over the last ten years There'll be no record of me living at some of those places so I hope that's not an issue!
