Hi All, when my partner and I applied for an 820 back in Feb-13 we were living with my parents and didnt really have any utility bills submitted with our application, Now we live in our own house and have split bills. Do we think this is worth while submitting just a couple split bills, We very content with all other aspects of our application we just feel that were short in the ' proof of joint contribution to bills department ?...

Well, got my medical done today! It was way less painful than I thought it was going to be. I stressed myself out about it beforehand--I always do when doctors are involved--but it was so easy. Pretty sure I got a passing grade, just waiting on the blood test. :) The worst part was the waiting. All the systems went down shortly after I got there and they switched to paper forms, and then had to reenter all of the information in the computers when everything came back up! I was in the building for about 2.5 hours, which is a bit over their estimate, but what can you do?
Anyway, also got an e-mail from Immigration today. When they requested additional information last time, they put a 28-day deadline on getting it. I told them I had my Australian police check and they asked me to scan it in--nothing about providing them with a physical, original copy. Has anyone run into this? Obviously I'll confirm with them that I don't need to turn in a physical copy, but I thought it was interesting. Something to do with their new online system, perhaps? |
Updates!! I officially have a case officer name now, rather than corresponding with "Admin Team." I saw in other threads they quote the initials of the case officers to see if anyone has the same one and how long it takes each case officer to get through the application. Something to start here as we start getting case officers? Mine's ET.
Anyway, got an e-mail today confirming that my medical results are in, my AFP clearance is in, and I have an extension for my FBI clearance to go through. Posted this in another thread, but I called the FBI and they said they had sent the clearance (actual clearance, not another request for fingerprints!) on November 25. It still isn't here. If it's been lost in the mail, I need to call again on December 23 and they'll send another one. Another interesting tidbit: we need to hand in a "change in circumstances" form because my husband is in a new, better paying job than he was when we applied, and I mentioned that but was told that no further information about the job was needed at this time. I suppose I'll be getting that request later. SO excited that this is moving along. Has anyone else had any news about their visas? Any luck finding jobs? Any unrelated updates in general? |

Hi Craig, yes I am onshore. I applied on March 25 of this year and heard nothing (other than getting my BVA acknowledgement letter) until November 25 when I received the request for more information. So, eight months exactly. Hope this helps!

so i take it you did front load your application then?
|
so i take it you did not front load everything then?
|
No, I didn't. I was worried the process was going to take too long and I was going to have to get all the relevant documents twice. Apparently I didn't have anything to worry about, though.
|
cool i have my co after 4 months what visa are you on? or what were you on before you applied?
|
I was on a work and holiday visa (462) which expired in June, so on BVA now. What about you?
