But with having a CO assigned now and them asking for new AFPs and form 80, I'm taking that as a very good sign! She said she needed these forms to finish processing my visa.
Oh wow that's really fast!

It would be good if they are trying to work on processing times though.

Actually, I believe that is what they are doing. CCMS posted a thread a few weeks ago that DIBP plans to process as many decision ready, low risk partner visas as possible between now and the end of the fiscal year (June 30). I've seen a few now that have been done under a year. So, anyone who has applied, I would definitely make sure you've uploaded everything that you can. My medicals just cleared this morning (did them last Weds) and boom, call from a CO. I was hoping to avoid the dreaded Form 80, but it seems they are asking for them even for those of us from the US. So, I'd suggest everyone do them and get it over with.

I hope this means good news for a LOT of us! I'm sorry that you've been waiting so long for your grant. That is so frustrating.

I just logged into MyImmi account and this is what it says at the top of the screen on "application status":

That's great LadyRogueRayne - sounds like you are very close to getting your grant. How exciting!!

I think we still have a while to wait - so frustrated that my husbands home country is considered high risk - he is an EU citizen and can live freely in any EU country he likes with no paperwork required, WHY on earth would he spend $7k+ and go to all this trouble to live in Australia if it wasn't for a genuine reason. Sheesh /rant over

The only saving grace is that he should go directly onto 801 and then this will all be over!

I'm glad they're looking at yours . I hope it is the case that they start processing them a bit faster... I sent them an email on the weekend (because I've been waiting over 15 months now), requesting an update and if they think they will assess it before I go overseas next month... hopefully they'll reply and hopefully my application will start moving soon...

Yeah I submitted my form 80 after they asked for it. Was asked for it on 6th March, submitted in on 9th March and been waiting ever since.

Emailed them at the end of the 28 days I have to submit the form 80 asking if they needed anymore info and was told they're waiting on external checks and should have my visa in a month. That was two weeks ago. Fingers crossed!

I feel your frustration, Ninja and I agree with you. It doesn't seem like all of this should take so long. But, I believe the security checks taking a long time are usually due to the country Australia contacts for information taking a long time to respond. I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I did read about that. I wasn't expecting to hear anything for a while on mine, though I knew they would look at mine faster due to the S3 criteria. I didn't think it meant they would grant it faster, though. I do hope you are right! I can't see them asking for new AFPs and Form 80 unless they were planning to grant the visa. I am taking it all as a positive sign that they accepted my Schedule 3 criteria. I should have asked the CO about it, but didn't think about it at the time. Regardless, I honestly would not wish the stress of Schedule 3 on anybody. However, I had a fantastic MARA agent who really helped me with it (I completed it myself following the agent recommendations).

Fingers crossed . If they do these checks with everyone and they take a couple of weeks, I think I have to give up on the idea that I will get my grant before I go overseas . I'm leaving in less than 3 weeks.

Oooo, you should hear soon then! So exciting!! That's weird that the external checks are taking so long though. You're from the UK, right? You'd think that would be really quick, like the USA. Well, I'm going to clean up my Form 80, start working with my son on his and then we just have to do the AFPs. My sons are supposed to go visit their dad in the US in July, so I'm really hoping they don't take too long doing external checks and we get our grant before then. I plan to have all the requested info submitted within the week (or two, depending on how long the AFP checks take). I'll upload Form 80 tonight.
