Hey everyone.

I submitted my onshore application this time last year and had provided my police checks at the time of application. My police check was dated April 2016 and a few weeks ago they asked me for an updated police check. About 10 days after I got this request i got an email:

"I can confirm that we are now able to proceed further with your application and you are requested to undertake any outstanding health and character requests within 28 days of this email"

The only thing I needed to re-supply was the UK Police certificate which came today. Anyone able to tell me how long the wait is after supplying the information in lieu of this email?

I presume they would have asked for any additionally required documents within this email so i'm hoping the next communication will be the visa!! The wait is killing me

I take it you've done your medical?

It's taken me 2 months since getting a request for form 80 but some are much faster.

Yeah everything else was done, it was only because my UK police certificate expired 4/4/17 so I got an email asking for an updated certificate on the same day. Two weeks later they email telling me they're ready to progress my application and but need the updated police certificate... only 2 weeks out of date!!

I'm just concerned having to update my police certificate has now put me to the back of the queue. I'm 12 months since date of application next week

I wouldn't be too stressed about that. Did they ask for form 80? If not, then once you supply the requested docs, you should get your grant fairly quickly. I've seen a lot of folks on here submit their police checks/medicals and get grants the same day. Others it took a few days. But generally, it usually happens pretty quick. I submitted the requested Form 80s almost 2 weeks ago, and the updated AFP checks on Monday, then clicked the submit button. Now, just waiting.

Think I'll try to call the CO tomorrow just to let her know I've submitted what she asked for. She did tell me to call her (gave me her direct line) if I have any questions....

Thanks, my case officer is based in London and don't have a direct line, though I did email her. I'm just feeling really impatient now lol!

Think I need a holiday

She never asked me to complete form 80?? Is that something else i'll need to send? It would be better if they asked for everything at once!

Not everyone gets asked for Form 80. I was hoping they wouldn't ask, but they did. I'm from the US and wasn't expecting to have to do it, but had it prepared anyway. Others on here were never asked for it and got their grants. So, I guess it's up to the individual CO doing the processing. My CO said she had everything else she needed to finish processing our visa, except Form 80s for both myself and my oldest son (just turned 18 on Sunday) and she needed new AFP checks, because the ones we submitted didn't have box 33 checked. I've been told by everyone (MARA agents included) that once they ask for these things, it means they are ready to grant the visa.

Sounds like we're just waiting now then!

Fingers crossed! As my case officer is based in London (which confuses me as mine was an onshore application) i'm hoping to wake up to sound good news one day! The case officer emails me at like 2-3am!

I think with the holidays in April it has made everything a little slower, hopefully will get some news soon
