If the 820 auto responder is anything like the 801 then they won't provide a status of update. I emailed them for the 801 for an update on my husband's and the auto-responder said they do not respond to requests for status updates. I would be very surprised if the 820 didn't say that now too.

Yeah I couldn't find one for 820 anyways. When I search for it on the DIBP website it only gives me link to 801 contact form. Might have to call them. Do anyone know better contact number than the general 131881?

Hi everyone,
I am joining in on here. I have a long way to wait as we only lodged on 25th April... Hoping it won't drag out to much. We have supplied everything except for the medical and AFP Police checks. Everything else has been submitted.

Wish there were. I've gotten to the point where I have stopped even checking the website. I figured I have my BVB, i'm here til they make up their minds. Sorry, just frustrated with the whole thing, more than a year now and never hear anything.

We hit a year since application this week, no response. Have BVA, but partner holds a student visa so need to continue meeting the criteria of that. Expensive.

Hi All:

Wanted to add myself to the temporary waiting room. Applied today. Want to say thanks to everyone on this website for all the information provided and for the help of Mark Northam. I submitted 45 documents today, and have done everything that is required except the health exam, which I will try to do in the next three weeks.

This website has been so helpful. I probably would have been in a puddle of tears when I saw the attach documents page if it hadn't been for help here that let me know what to expect and how to respond to that crazy mess of a page.

One question: BVA is already in my folder. Once my travel visa expires, I will begin to look for work. Assuming I get a job, I imagine it will be a while before I have enough vacation time to travel to visit relatives and wrap up affairs home. Is it ok to go ahead and apply for the BVB immediately? If I can make it work, I might travel home for two weeks while I start to look for work in AUS so I can visit family / clean up affairs at home.

Didn't know if they might deny it since I just got the BVA, but wasn't sure people's experience...

Thanks!

A BVB is usually granted a week or so prior to expected travel and is usually for a limited period. It's usually granted without any hassle, but you might want to wait until your BVA kicks in before applying.
