If you applied when the waiting time was listed at 12-15 months, maybe file a complaint at the 15 month mark? I've seen others do that and then get their grant. I understand that the waiting time has increased; however, go by what it was when YOU applied. It's really ridiculous for people to be waiting so long when you're from a low risk country and have a decision ready application.

Just to prepared anyone making a complaint as I don't want you to get your hopes up, complaints seem to be luck of the draw too, or maybe they just got sick of them. There were a couple within the last couple of weeks that were told the ombudsman would not investigate as they go by the global processing times not what the processing times were when they applied.

Also just to let you know that if you are going to lodge a complaint with the ombudsman you need to lodge a complaint with DIBP first and give DIBP a reasonable time to respond and investigate (2 to 3 weeks is what I would be looking at).

All I can think of is to try and call. I understand it's difficult when working, but maybe during a break or first thing in the morning? Where did they process your visa? Maybe email that office directly, instead of going through the website. My CO gave me her direct line when she called me asking for the remaining forms that she needed for my grant. Mine was completed in the Victoria office. I can't believe you haven't heard back yet. That's ridiculous!

Personally, I did my health check just after my application hit 12 months waiting. This is all up to you. If you feel like you should do your medicals just do it. You already in 15 months. I would not encourage you to do it if you just applied or 6 months.

May I know how much you paid for the medical check? I did my application through an agent and I asked him for the referral letter for health check. He sent me some questions to answer and then sent me the letter which I need to do health examination, x-ray and HIV test. It's $441.5 for all on BUPA website but I have been reading and everyone says they spent $350 for this. Just wondering if there is a cheaper way :)
