Also just to let you know that if you are going to lodge a complaint with the ombudsman you need to lodge a complaint with DIBP first and give DIBP a reasonable time to respond and investigate (2 to 3 weeks is what I would be looking at). |

They can always try to complain, but I am just preparing them incase they get a "sorry you are still within the global processing times" response. |

I applied when the waiting time was between 12-15 months. When I didn't get anything on my 16th months, I emailed them asking for the reason why it has been delayed. I didn't get any reply even after 2 weeks. Then I called them 3 days ago. And the people who answer the call told me the waiting time will keep changing month by month and I have to follow the current one published in the website and ignore the waiting time at the point of application. She said no email or call will be entertained before the application hit 20 months (current max processing time for 820). |
health check
hi all,
I will be reaching to 15 months in couple weeks. I come from a high risk country and someone I know from my country got her visa after 21 months, so I am pretty much ready to wait the same time while still feel frustrated seeing someone I know got approval before me. Anyway, I am just on my way submitting more documents. They haven't asked me for police check or health check yet. However to be ready ahead I have gotten my police check and thinking about the health check now, but my partner wants me to wait until the officer asked for it. So would having the health check now be beneficial or not really. Hope someone could understand what I typed here :) Thanks alot. |

Same like you. I have applied more than 14 months ago and from high-risk country :) Still waiting! Personally, I did my health check just after my application hit 12 months waiting. This is all up to you. If you feel like you should do your medicals just do it. You already in 15 months. I would not encourage you to do it if you just applied or 6 months. Well, wish all the best! :) |

May I know how much you paid for the medical check? I did my application through an agent and I asked him for the referral letter for health check. He sent me some questions to answer and then sent me the letter which I need to do health examination, x-ray and HIV test. It's $441.5 for all on BUPA website but I have been reading and everyone says they spent $350 for this. Just wondering if there is a cheaper way :) |

Hello Littlpeanut, I think I have paid around $370, included HIV test. Not definitely over $400. Hope that would help. |
