This time... another person I know thru similar friendships posted to her FB that she's been granted her 820 after only 8.5 months of waiting. This is bullshit. They've been together for only a YEAR. How... just how is this right? She's been in Australia since 2014. No, she's not pregnant. No, not engaged.

I don't understand... I've been with my partner for over 3 years now and lived together for that long, too... and been in Australia for 3 years now. Supplied EVERYTHING under the sun and more than I can for the application online. All of this and I can't even get a CO assigned?!

I know there's people who have waited longer so far than me on here, but this is just so unfair and really ruins it for the genuine relationships out there.

Is this happening because she's from the UK? Is there some kind of relationship with AU? I'm not from a high-risk country... is it because my President is Trump now?! What is it!

Tears, anger, frustration, everything. What's the worst feeling... no line of contact for the visa... only a stupid email address that doesn't get responded to.

I feel for you.. I had to wait for over 15 months too, lived with my partner for 4.5 years by the time my visa finally got granted (and then initially only got the 820 even though we were eligible for 801!). This all got resolved eventually. The process can be painful but you'll get there! Just have confidence that your application is solid and try to forget about it. And celebrate hard when you get it! I know someone who applied at the same time as me and she's still waiting for 820 (engaged, been together for ages, applied 17.5 months ago)... but she's not worried because she knows it'll get through straight away when someone looks at it. Good luck! You're not alone...

Are you saying this person who posted on Facebook about their grant is NOT in a genuine relationship? If that isn't what you are saying, why is it so unfair? How is it NOT RIGHT that their visa was granted? I hope no one applauds you if your visa gets granted, only complains about their own misfortunes... Everyone is fighting their own battle!!! It all seems to be the luck of the draw, with little rhyme or reason... If this was your post "after calming down," omg what did you write before!?

How is it not right/far? Because... they fudged the requirements to even apply for this visa. They didn't meet the requirements for this visa at the time of lodgment. So yes, it is quite frankly unfair and well, against the law... but hey, I wont completely through them under the bus. That's a bit harsh hey to wish no one to applaud me when my visa gets granted. I think you missed me saying I know others have waited longer than me... thanks for your kind words tho! I really appreciate your support. Good luck with your visa.

I think she's happy for the person, just frustrated with the system. I get that... when they say it's processed based on date of application, and it obviously isn't, I can understand why it leads to frustrations. Like you picked the wrong line in the supermarket, except you can't pick which line you're being put in... I guess! Especially when the visa grant comes with priviliges like being able to go overseas etc.

Thanks for your kind words! It definitely is tough. I think the most painful part is just the lack of communication. I have a friend who has waited 3 bloody years... and isn't from a high risk country, but know others from high risk countries that it's automatic. I just wish the gov't would take off their claim that they process the applications in the order in which they are lodged haha!

That is the major point of frustration for my wife and I, along with the ever-ballooning wait times.

We have not received any letter requesting further documentation, but that is probably because we submitted everything at point of application (including form 80, 2x888, AU and VN police checks and health check)

I've seen a lot of people from VN got granted on the 20th month or 18th month at least. I'm from VN to and 15 months of waiting now. good luck to us

The ballooning wait times is a slap in the face... it was 15mo when I first applied and that was the long end... not short turn around is 17mo. I've wait the 15mo as well, but now another 2 months PERHAPS before maybe it'll be looked at. I received the generic letter of submitting those, but they seem to be sent to people who have even already submitted them. In the email it said to ignore the automated message if you already had supplied them.

I did however wait to do my health check as it's only valid for 12mo, so when I did receive the generic automated email I booked and supplied it. I did notice though that on my HAPID form it said that the application I was going for was an 801 Permanent Partner Visa... and online there was a choice when booking for either 820 or 801. During the health check they said because I'm applying for a permanent visa I had to do a couple other things. Not sure if that means I'll go 801 straight away or what.

No, it doesn't necessarily mean you'll go to 801 straight away. My medicals also stated 801 and when I asked about it, I was told it was because that ultimately, I am working towards that visa. We don't have to do medicals again, between the 820 and 801. The medical is for both the 820 and 801...hence why it states 801. I do hope you hear soon though! Would be great to see some more grants by Friday. If nothing else, it should mean that people will start seeing a lot more in July (new fiscal year). Here's hoping everyone gets their grants soon!

Yeah, I didn't think so. Just interesting that some people I know theirs said 820. Maybe it's because they are from a different country and need to complete two? Who knows!

I hope to hear something at least soon... Friday would be awesome, but like anytime in the next 2 months would be awesome. Then I wouldn't have to apply for another BVB for work travel in November. Gets expensive having to spend more money just to have permission to come back again. Just happy I applied before the rates go up again.
