I hope to hear something at least soon... Friday would be awesome, but like anytime in the next 2 months would be awesome. Then I wouldn't have to apply for another BVB for work travel in November. Gets expensive having to spend more money just to have permission to come back again. Just happy I applied before the rates go up again.
I'm sure you'll hear something soon. Have you traveled to a lot of countries? That could be the hold up. I know that if you've done a lot of foreign travel, it takes them longer as they go through your form 80. I had to supply form 80 for both myself and my son. I called the CO to let her know I'd uploaded them per her request and I asked if it will take a long time to process it. She stated that if there was a lot of foreign travel, or anything that came to their attention that sometimes it takes a while for them to verify things...but then, I ended up getting my grant 20 minutes later (though I really haven't done much international traveling other than a trip to the Bahamas on a cruise, 2 trips to Bali and my travel between Australia and the US). I think that makes a difference for some. I don't know though...it really looks like it's the luck of the draw on which CO gets your application. I had to meet Schedule 3 requirements, so I know that had a hand in them looking at mine a lot faster. Some COs seem really dedicated (mine was great!), while others seem like they take forever to do their work. I do know that they really need to change the statements on the website, as they do NOT generally take them in the order they were lodged. There's no way they do, from looking at different wait times for everyone.

I have travelled to other countries, but as a child... that's all on my Form 80. I really just think my application has been allocated to a CO that takes their time. My mate who backpacked for a year to loads of different countries got his really quick. It's just frustrating, especially not even been given a CO to have no communication with.

It's discouraging that statement, because as you said there is no way based upon just looking at everyone's timelines. I hate seeing the time for processing increasing, too when technically I've already waited the long term processing times since lodgment. Do you think me having to apply for BVB's slow down my actual 820/801 timeframe? (You'd think it'd speed it up... or they just like the extra money every time I apply)

I don't know, to be honest. Some people use BVBs, and still get a quick grant while others seem to have to wait eons. It does seem like it's the luck of the draw.

I've never had much luck with draws! So you reckon with the EOFY coming up they'll have a renewed capacity? I'm not sure how EOFY fits in with it because I didn't think partner visa were on quota limits and well, I'm already on Medicare as well.

Haha I am secretly hoping to win the lotto and be happy to wait years for the grant. I haven't got a CO assigned yet. Just got a generic email from them. I guess I will still have to wait quite long for the grant.

That would be the good life, then waiting wouldn't matter! I haven't gotten a CO either. I received a generic e-mail last month about Form 80, Medical, and Police Check. That's the most I've ever heard since lodgment.
