I applied for my 820 In Dec 2016 and I put the application together across 2 months and felt very rushed. I've been collecting since I lodged so when Dec 2018 comes, I will have it all in place and ready. My only issue is now my partner has purchased a property and I am not eligible to put my name on the Gas/Water bill because my name is not on the deed for the property - throws a spanner in the works! Prior to this we were renting and both names on the lease.

We have obviously all the other stuff - owning pets together, gym memberships, photos, invites, phone bills, internet and joint account etc etc. In the joint account, I transfer my rent equivalent across, then he transfers to his account to pay the mortgage. Hoping it's sufficient!
I am honestly not sure if the ombudsman helped because they don't do alot for most people so maybe just luck and also due to the amount of evidence we gave them.

You should be uploading your evidence until the 820 gets granted as the 801 is since the grant of the 820.

We didn't have the rates or water in my husband's name as the house is in my name and there was no issue at all.

Hi Everyone, I have a quick question. We applied for my visa around 3 months ago and I'm getting ready further proof to show that we are still together. I received some postcards from my brother but he misspelled my partner family name. Do you think I should still include them? We didn't have much mail sent to our address in our application.
Thanks

Should I update?

Hi everyone!
We lodged our application for partner visa online on 5th of April 2016, and within 30 days we submitted all the required documents. When we lodged our application ( 5th April 2016), my partner and I had been living together for 13 months, and were engaged but applied as de facto.

Since then, we have not added any document to the application, and we did not update the department yet, but we are still living together and the big change is that we got married on May 2017 and have already received our marriage certificate. Haven't hear anything from the department, it is obvious they have not even specify an officer to our case.

Now, my question is:

1- Don't you think it is getting too long to have an officer for our case?

2-Whether we need to update them about our new circumstances? and how this can happen? Should we just add marriage certificate to the attachment? or should we update them through the section called " change of circumstances"?

I would appreciate any help or advice from other experienced applicants.

Hi all,
I as the sponsor was requested to provide an overseas and Australian police check back a few months ago. Then a couple of months ago my wife was requested to provide an overseas and Australian police check as well as her medical. Does this mean that DIBP are close to granting the 820? As these things are valid 1 year is it likely they would request these documents back then and then wait close to a year to grant the 820? We applied for the onshore, online in December 2016. We have already submitted just about everything.

Sounds like they are getting ready to approve the visa once they have the documents they requested. I supplied mine and got my grant just 2 days later. Best of luck! So excited for you!!

Did you try contacting them? I called the CO after I submitted the documents she requested and had my grant 20 minutes later. Did they give you an email address or a CO's name? Couldn't hurt to give a call if you have a name...or even to just call the centre and "let them know" you've submitted your requested documents or to "check" to ensure they got them.

I haven't submitted the online application yet. I see the 47sp "Submit" button, but haven't pressed it. I don't want to press it, because we want to wait another month for our de facto anniversary. We haven't paid yet.

When will we pay? After the submit button or do we have to launch the 40sp? When we pay, does the bridging visa get launched? And only after we pay is when the uploading process happens?

No It was that generic email that was sent to me, from QLD no case officer, but if they were asking me to make sure these things were submitted, hopefully I can't be faulted if they dont get to it in time.

I believe now would be a good time to update the Department, it will certainly strengthen your application. If you changed your name, address etc. you can do so by going into the "update us" bar and fill out the relevant documents. It has been a while since you uploaded evidence by the sounds of it, so I believe submitting more current documents will be beneficial especially to ensure the assessing CO can see your relationship is genuine and ongoing.
