Currently waiting 2 weeks, I'm already tired of waiting. We started gathering our info a year ago when we decided we wanted this. Although we couldn't (or wouldnt, rather) pay for it until we got everything (except the health results and police check) gathered and scanned. So we submitted and paid the 14th of this month.

Everything else is already taken care of, but I just noticed a bit ago, that the processing times are like 18-21 months, does it really take THAT long? I'm completely shocked and want to visit next February because waiting over 1.5 year (I visited him last february) would be too long for me to handle. But now I'm scared they might accept my visa whilst I'm visiting or just before. It's tough and I'm really nervous :(

820 is an onshore visa but it sounds like you're offshore?

Are you able to elaborate a little more on the circumstances of your relationship which enabled you to be granted the visa in 11 months?
It may help others understand the system a bit better in comparison to their own applications.

Hi everyone,

I have applied for my 820 VISA on 12th of December 2016 and got BV granted on 14th of December.

I have done my medical and police check up and submitted all by the end of December and ever since I have been waiting and its nearly 9 months and still no decision.

I know it takes time but not sure how long to get the first decision. If the whole onshore partner VISA process takes 24 months, then I believe it should not take that long to see the result but under this circumstance if anyone could suggest about the next step that would be really appreciated.

However, in my ImmiAccount I have uploaded 60 files already and I still feel like need to upload more docs but it has already exceeded my limit already. even tho my wife's account got online 6 files uploaded out of 60. Therefore, I am wondering if there is anything to do with this file submission to immi decision.

Please advice if you are familiar to this situation.

Thank you.
