Hi Rruummaann

Just wondering whether you heard anyone back yet? If yes, what they asked for? I applied in February, hence curious. Thank you.

Hi everyone,

I have applied for my 820 VISA on 12th of December 2016 and got BV granted on 14th of December.

I have done my medical and police check up and submitted all by the end of December and ever since I have been waiting and its nearly 9 months and still no decision.

I know it takes time but not sure how long to get the first decision. If the whole onshore partner VISA process takes 24 months, then I believe it should not take that long to see the result but under this circumstance if anyone could suggest about the next step that would be really appreciated.

However, in my ImmiAccount I have uploaded 60 files already and I still feel like need to upload more docs but it has already exceeded my limit already. even tho my wife's account got online 6 files uploaded out of 60. Therefore, I am wondering if there is anything to do with this file submission to immi decision.

Please advice if you are familiar to this situation.

Thank you.

Hi all,

Congratulations to everyone who recently got their visa approved, must be such a relief!!

I applied for the 820 on 20 January 2017 and today I received an email from Partner Temporary QLD with the heading Important - Action required. It looks like a pretty generic email, with basically a reminder to upload all the documents that are required. I have uploaded everything already in January, but have held off doing my medical, as I know processing times are long. The email also states that it is not a formal request and as such there is no specific time frame.

I have just had a look at the BUPA website to see when I can book my medical appointment for, and there are slots available for next week Thursday and Friday in Brisbane, which I most likely won't be able to make due to work commitments. However, after that it looks like there are no appointments available at all? Even if I forward to say February 2018. I also tried Toowoomba, which is a QLD regional centre - and there I don't even have the option to select a date. I just have to fill in a form and send it off. Does that mean that they will basically allocate a date to me? Because that's not ideal either.

Does anyone recognise this? How far in advance have you guys actually booked your medical for?
And how serious do I have to take this reminder email that I received? Because I was pretty excited and nervous about it haha! :)

Do your medical. Plenty of time has passed. You're not jumping the gun by doing it now. Give them everything they need, and then reply to the same email saying as much. You'll probably just get an automated response, but trust me, they'll see it.

More than 6 months have passed. Do your medical!

Very good news indeed! Congratulations!

Can you please tell me whether in addition to Form 888, you provided Statutory Declaration as well for both the Sponsor and the Applicant?

Many thanks and a big congratulations again!

Hello Roy,

Thanks :)

Yes, in addition to Form 888 from witnesses, we both write statutory declaration about the history of our relationship, from when we first met until we got married and applied for the Partner Visa.

Regarding the nature of household, sharing of finances etc, we wrote them on the online application, there are several questions like these as mentioned by Marcellus that you need to answer in the online application. But I just checked our docs again, and we did submit a joint statement in addition to answering these questions online, summarising the nature of our household and the sharing of finances. We just made a free-format statement (not stat-dec), signed by the both of us and a witness (pharmacist).

An extra statement is not required if you fill in the online boxes. If you choose to do an extra statement, it can be as simple as typing it up in word amd attaching it. There's no requirement to get it witnessed though some people choose to.

Hi Roy,

No I have not heard anything from them as of now and its I guess a bit early to expect that anyway since I launched my application on 12th of December 2016. As you may know usually they take up to 19-21 months to finalize most of the application, so yeah I have been still waiting.

However, we were blessed to have a baby in the meantime, therefore, I am hoping the decision will be out a bit quicker than average.

I have already applied for a police clearance from my country and now I am thinking if I should go for medication test once again which I have already done right after I applied for 820. Since the validity of the medical test is only for 12 months.

I hope my information will help you some.

Thank you.

Thanks fantastic! Congratulations!

After applying in February, we also had a baby and I attached baby documents already. However, no contact from DIBP yet 1:(.

If it's not a lot to ask for, can you please post it here when you hear from them? I am really stressed out, hence little impatient too.

Enjoy your parenthood!

regards

Hello there!

We have been waiting for 17 months ( 18 months waiting time in 2 weeks!) and we heard nothing! Nothing!

How can I contact the Department to get an update? :( Or can I do anything?

Hope to hear from you soon.

You're still within the current posted Global Processing Times so not much you can do. You can try calling or emailing if it makes you feel better but don't expect much from it.

My number one advice to you is to simply call your local Bupa center. I requested an appointment online, only to receive an email from them telling me I had to call to set up an appointment (this was in VIC). So, despite immi telling us to book online, most people end up having to call to set up an appointment anyway. Appointments could only be made a week in advance, and on one of two weekdays. I had to call around 8am (or whenever the center opened) to set up my appointment for the following week; if I didn't call at that time, the appointments would have filled up, and I would have to wait another week to make an appointment.

I'm not sure if Bupa centers are like this all over in regards to the medical, but I have heard several people on here say they went through the same process. So, bottom line--call them. Good luck! :)
