Hi guys, I’m back with update of my application.

Lodged online 6th Feb, and yesterday afternoon we received an email from CO requesting for additional docs which are hubby’s AFP and my NBI (police check) from Philippines:D

We are in Perth but it is being processed in Australia Embassy Manila. We got excited and never expected to hear from them in 9 months.

Can anyone please help me with my NBI clearance, in the email it says that the NBI clearance must match the name in the passport but in Philippine Consul General website, it says that if I change my name I must provide a copy of marriage certificate. I am confused now if I have to use my maiden name or married name in my NBI clearance.. Thanks a lot.

Cheers,

I would try to avoid confusion, although difficult after marriage, with the name change..

However, "NBI clearance must match the name in the passport", so use the name as in current passport. Some people may have the new 'married' name in passport, and they will need to show the marriage certificate.

We have kept all things in the maiden name, same as the Visa application, for the moment, to avoid confusion.

Women in 20% of marriages do not take the husbands name, but retain their own. It is not compulsory to change.

But it can be confusing..

Hello guys once again,

I am on 820 onshore applicant and I launched my application at the end of 2016. therefore, I have been still waiting for the decision knowing the fact it will take from 19 to 21 months to get the first decision.

Here is my case, we have a baby together who was born 5 months ago and i have already informed the immigration of my new baby and received an acknowledgement letter from them.

Unfortunately we have recently broke up and she has gone back to her parents and staying there at the moment with baby. Also she has filed as single parents from Centerlink so that she can support herself and so forth. Even though we are still married by law and I am putting certain amount every fortnight into our joint account.

At this stage, I was wondering if anyone knows how this situation will impact on my visa decision or immigration status? or if anyone has got the similar story as mine. I would really appreciate your knowledge and experience if you could share.

Thank you.

Hi All,

We applied online for our 820 partner visa on July 18th 2017.
Yesterday we got a request for the 40SP form to be completed.

It was my understanding the the 40SP form was actually the online application.

Has this happened to anyone?

Thanks,

Caragh

Can you explain what you did after paying the fee? (in some detail).

After paying I attached documents and evidence required from the checklist.

I've since realised that as the sponsor, I didn't fill in the 40SP form, I thought that was the online component but I was wrong.. although its long it seems very straight forward.
I have a few other questions so I might call our CO as well.
Since applying I've changed my name and need to update my passport and notify them our daughter was born.

Sponsor needs to create a new app as a sponsor. That one is the 40sp. The 47sp is the app the applicant makes.

* As I suspected.

I have a few other questions so I might call our CO as well.

* Not advisable - They have been known to give fatal information before and they don't take responsibility for it even if in writing.

Since applying I've changed my name and need to update my passport and notify them our daughter was born.

* This will create other issues possibly maybe have a chat with a RMA.

Have you read the Partner Migration Booklet?

Thank you very much JandE. I’m glad that you still following this thread. Will do it tomorrow and hope it wouldn’t take long to send it back here. I just sent auth letter to my sister to pick up my drivers license and that express mail took 17 days for delivery. Assuming 17 days will take for mailing my NBI back here and that is total of 34 days. Then we have to write to immi before the given 28 days is up.

Cheers,

Hi guys, please note that the processing times has been extended to 22 months for the 820 onshore, which is insane, disrespectful and inconsiderate. We all paid 8000+ for this visa. I have written to the attorney general of Australia and my visa will be processed faster due to my complaint against the department of immigration, so guys make sure to complaint complaint complaint so there is a few voices out there so this waiting times can be changed, they are currently a joke. You can also contact your local MP so they can pass the message to parliament for you.

Oh, my dear! This is exactly how I feel! When we lodged our application, the waiting time was between 12 m - 15m. While I was waiting for a decision for our case, the waiting time has been extended. And of course, I am from "high danger level" country. :(

Hi everyone!
I have received my 820 grant today!!

Its been 12month&2weeks waiting.. :)

I have been reading this thread and had my hopes up when i saw others getting theirs granted
You know.. comparing the time frames, countries, situations etc..
I am hoping i can do the same for those of you who are still patiently waiting..

Gotta tell you though.. if your relationship is genuine and have every evidence lodged.. you will get the grant!!!
all you can do is keep on waiting patiently and do what you gotta do :)

So here you go

Visa application date - 9th of October 2016
Visa grant - 28th of October 2017
Health check - may 2017

I did all my police checks, form 80, 888 when i lodged the visa.
In 2weeks from application date, everything was all uploaded apart from the health check.

I uploaded more photos from overseas trip to my family’s wedding on July this year and that was my last update.

Havent heard from the case officer at all.
All i got was the grant letter this morning.
It truely mad my day and im sure it will do for you too!!

Dont get depressed( i was... when i hit 12month, major meltdown..)
I know ppl out there waited longer than me though.
But as long as you are in genuine relationship, you will get it im sure!

Any questions, im happy to answer :)

That was great! Congrats!

I'm doing the same, all my PC, form 80, 888 etc were uploaded within 3 weeks after application, including Health check, in a hope to get approval soon!
