However, "NBI clearance must match the name in the passport", so use the name as in current passport. Some people may have the new 'married' name in passport, and they will need to show the marriage certificate. We have kept all things in the maiden name, same as the Visa application, for the moment, to avoid confusion. Women in 20% of marriages do not take the husbands name, but retain their own. It is not compulsory to change. But it can be confusing.. |
Hello guys once again,
I am on 820 onshore applicant and I launched my application at the end of 2016. therefore, I have been still waiting for the decision knowing the fact it will take from 19 to 21 months to get the first decision. Here is my case, we have a baby together who was born 5 months ago and i have already informed the immigration of my new baby and received an acknowledgement letter from them. Unfortunately we have recently broke up and she has gone back to her parents and staying there at the moment with baby. Also she has filed as single parents from Centerlink so that she can support herself and so forth. Even though we are still married by law and I am putting certain amount every fortnight into our joint account. At this stage, I was wondering if anyone knows how this situation will impact on my visa decision or immigration status? or if anyone has got the similar story as mine. I would really appreciate your knowledge and experience if you could share. Thank you. |
Hi All,
We applied online for our 820 partner visa on July 18th 2017. Yesterday we got a request for the 40SP form to be completed. It was my understanding the the 40SP form was actually the online application. Has this happened to anyone? Thanks, Caragh |

After paying I attached documents and evidence required from the checklist.
I've since realised that as the sponsor, I didn't fill in the 40SP form, I thought that was the online component but I was wrong.. although its long it seems very straight forward. I have a few other questions so I might call our CO as well. Since applying I've changed my name and need to update my passport and notify them our daughter was born. |
Sponsor needs to create a new app as a sponsor. That one is the 40sp. The 47sp is the app the applicant makes.

Thank you very much JandE. I’m glad that you still following this thread. Will do it tomorrow and hope it wouldn’t take long to send it back here. I just sent auth letter to my sister to pick up my drivers license and that express mail took 17 days for delivery. Assuming 17 days will take for mailing my NBI back here and that is total of 34 days. Then we have to write to immi before the given 28 days is up.

Still waiting

Oh, my dear! This is exactly how I feel! When we lodged our application, the waiting time was between 12 m - 15m. While I was waiting for a decision for our case, the waiting time has been extended. And of course, I am from "high danger level" country. :( |

I'm doing the same, all my PC, form 80, 888 etc were uploaded within 3 weeks after application, including Health check, in a hope to get approval soon! |
