Our application is more recent than yours, but I was also concerned and wanted to make sure we got everything right first time, so I did a lot of digging. A lot of the information posted here and elsewhere is a bit confusing or has gaps, as people seem to be talking about the same thing, but often are referring to different aspects of the process. As a Sponsor for my wife's 801/820 Onshore, ONLINE Application, I was also confused, until I created and started to edit my own (Sponsor's) ImmiAccount online application. To assist everyone in the same boat: 1. If the sponsor will complete a PAPER version of the Sponsor's Application (Form 40SP) and UPLOAD a SCANNED copy, then you can submit that via the applicant's ImmiAccount - log into the Applicant's ImmiAccount - Click on the completed application, & click where it says "View Details" - Click the "Attach Documents" link beneath the Sponsor's Name (this is only available after the Applicant has Submitted and Paid and the Application has been "received" by DIBP). - Attach/Upload required document(s) 2. If the Sponsor will complete an ONLINE Sponsor's Application, then the Sponsor needs to create their own ImmiAccount. The Sponsor will need to input the Applicant's Transaction Reference Number when requested in the Online Form to link the Sponsor's Application to the Applicant's. Note:- a) The above only refers to the Sponsor's Application Form (40SP). It's been made very clear that either through the Sponsor's own ImmiAccount, or on the Sponsor's section of the Applicant's ImmiAccount, the applicant and sponsor can attach documents to the application that relate to the sponsorship, IN ADDITION to the maximum allowed to the Applicant. b) The questions are substantially the same on the Sponsor's ONLINE application as the Applicant's ONLINE application. (Just as they are for the paper versions). |
received an email
Hi all,
Thanks for all your comments and information and it really helped us alot. I have applied my wife's application online on 27th of Feb this year. Submitted everything except my wife's and my(sponsor) police check and health examination as I saw on this thread people recommending to do those when it's been asked. Did check online status on my wife's immi account every now and then but wasn't really paying much attention as there were many comments that the waiting period time has been extended. I was more checking on updates on this site and thread:D .. Not too sure what this would be(could be auto generated email) but just received and email yesterday from immigration for requesting all of those checks. So we've done the police check yesterday both mine and her's and done her medical exam today.. Feel sorry for those who've waited much much longer than us but hopefully this means grant is on the way. Or maybe it could be just a false alarm:( , even so at least we know that they are doing something. Will update what's happening if I get any updates. Wish everyone waiting for any update gets a good news. |

Have they confirmed that your VISA will be processed faster? |
hi everyone, i submitted the 820 application online in April 2017 (me as the applicant) and just got a email last night requesting the health check, is this a good sign?
when i logged in to my immi account today it says my sponsor is approved, i am keeping my fingers crossed that it might mean that things are speeding up a bit for us 820 onshore applicants :) |
that's a really good sign! As the health check only lasts 12 months, so they will never ask for it unless they believe they will complete your application in less than that time frame. However, majority of people get their entire application approved very shortly after you provide it. Well done!
I applied 820 onshore via paper in December 2016. Still waiting to hear back. |
thanks xemmafellowsx, i was thinking that too, although i felt my application was lacking/weak on a few aspects of evidence but if they wanted more info for the actual application they would prob request this now / or after the health check?
i know mark's the man to ask on this but looks like he's away til monday... :( best of luck on your application anyway, hope it gets picked up soon for you! |

when you say 'front loaded the application' do you mean you had all the docs ready to go before submitting? i guess i didnt really... i had most things ready when i submitted in April, but since then ive been just adding evidence week by week
