Yes, because a grant in 6 months or 7 months falls into the 75% processed in 20 months. Only an estimated 15% take 20-25 months.

Less than 6 Months 820 APPROVED!

We didn't expect to get approved this fast. I am so lucky. I checked my mail and immi account every single day. Just like everyone here.

And today we received the Grant. We got 2 correspondence for police check and medical and that was it. Submitted final documents 2 weeks ago.

I wish everyone here all the best. As long as you are in a genuine relationship. You should be okay. Yeayyy

1. We only lived together for 6 months when we applied - but we registered our rship

2. We dont have joint utilities. ( Saved my receipt of buying car together just in case they ask for more info, but they didnt)

3. We didnt have our names in our will nor super

4. We did it ourselves!

In my opinion. Its how you present your evidence.. And thank you so much to everyone here!!

Im so happy

Hello2017 that's well done and congratulations!

We're still waiting for one more piece of document for my sponsor police check from Singapore (heads up anyone who needs it - please do it in advance it takes ages!) but hopefully, that'll come in the next week or two.

I'm excited to hear this as I'm on the same boat as you having our application processed through Malaysia - we have a specific case officer working on it who has been so kind and very responsive in giving us extension until we receive our Singapore police clearance document via post.

Will keep updating here for sure!

BVA/BVB and arrival card question

Hi all,

My wife recently joined me (I'm a PR) in Australia on a tourist visa on Nov 11th (meaning it's valid until Feb 10th). We then applied for an onshore partner visa, and her BVA was granted overnight and will kick in at expiry of tourist visa. But she has to travel to Switzerland in January so we applied for a BVB, which was also granted overnight for 3 months. It does state "This bridging visa is not in effect because your E-visitor visa is currently in effect." My questions:

- I'm assuming her BVB will kick in when she leaves the country, superseding her ETA? Does that mean she does not have to wait for the previous kick-in date of her BVA to start working?

- when she comes back from her trip, on the Australia arrival card, which box does she tick? "Migrating to Australia" or "Visitor"? Again, she's got her BVB but I'm wondering what might come up at the immigration counter?

Thanks!

Hi everyone, new here & waiting for our 820 visa.

I'm curious to know, for those of you who applied after July 2017 - How long did it take for DIBP to request your sponsors AFP check?

We applied on the 28th of August and got the request for my AFP check on the 10th of November. Seemed very quick to me, but I heard they process the sponsorship part first anyway so maybe thats just standard. Atleast I know things are happening!

Congrats on such a quick turn around!

was it the applicants or the sponsors police check they requested after 3 months? They still haven't requested our medical or applicants police check yet.

They requested my medical checkup and both me and my sponsor police check.

DIBP increased their processing times to 25 months, what a joke. I encourage everyone out there to take the time and write an official complaint in the actual DIBP website and another complain to either the attorney general or the Commonwealth Ombudsman (I have written complaints and it worked out, my application was processed in less than a year and I applied in FEB 2017). Don't be afraid to complaint as this is becoming a joke for all applicants. They should hire more staff instead of increasing the processing times. It infuriates me how this is becoming a disrespectful process for partner visa applicants. Only this year they increased processing times 4 times! It started 12/13-15 then 15-17- then 16-20 and then 20-25 months!

Thanks, I will definitely write some complaint letters!
