I lodged my online onshore partner visa last December 2017 I noticed that I made a mistake placing my Attachment instead of attaching them to their respective sections I did attach all of them to "Others" Category, that was after I confirmed my submission and as we all are aware we can't move this attachment.
please advise if ever you have an idea how to rectify my mistake.

I appreciate your responses

It won't make a significant difference to how your application is processed. Don't worry.

Hi Guys,

Long time reader, first time poster. I thought I'd share our timeline of our application for reference.

Partner home Country: Colombia
On-Shore Application submitted in Melbourne - 18/6/17
Medical and Police checks requested - 17/1/18

The requests came from the Australian Embassy in Washington which I thought was interesting...

As much I think about where to add evidence and under which section it makes no sense as it seems repeating everything. I didnít want to upload so many times the same evidence.
Do u reckon I should enquire about visa status on Perth temporary partner email address .. where did u drop emails?

Hello, i applied in June 2017 and got asked for a sponsor police check in October 2017. Supplied it in November 2017 and since then nothing. Sponsor status still sitting on submitted (not changed to approved). My sponsor police check request also came from WA but I don't think that it means my visa is being processed there, just that the sponsorship assessment unit is based there. IF you send any email let us know!

Thank you for your reply.. so basically in almost a year they didnít even start to look at sponsorship application? That is weird. I will definitely call them not email. Actually I got my husband to call ? he is good at arguing? Honestly this is what they like otherwise they forget about your application. I need to clarify as well what is going on with this new timeframe of 20 -25 months. I thought it is for new applications from November onwards .. they canít just play with it.. some other people depend on the visa to take loans, mortgage , certain jobs in certain fields where they want you to be a permanent resident. Definitely people need to complain about it.

My partner and I applied for the partner visa 820/801 November last year (we've played the waiting game for two months now) and it came to my attention recently that a friend of ours who did form 888 for us provided the wrong date in her statement.

I arrived in Australia in February 2015 and started going out with my partner in April that same year, meaning she would have met me around that time. However, she wrote in her form 888 that she met me in late 2014 as she was going camping when she wrote that and didn't remember exactly when we met. I understand that even though our relationship is genuine and honest (we provided a lot of evidence and I personally think it's a relatively strong application), inconsistent information regarding the timeline of our relationship can be a red flag and the immigration department can outright reject/cancel my visa.

I'm pretty stressed out by this right now and have no idea what to do. Do you think I should withdraw my current application and apply for a new one (does that mean that the immigration department won't be able to see my previous application and compare it to the new one as I wouldn't want it to look suspicious)? Should I wait until I receive an answer from them and repeal if it comes to that? I personally don't wanna wait for 20-25 months if I know for sure they're just gonna turn down my application.

Really hoping for get some information/advice from someone who has gone through this before. Thank you.

Hailey
Hi Hailey! A lot of us on here have done the same, only to realise the mistake months later. Perhaps have your partner write a new statement with the right information and attach the new stat dec in a PDF with the original stat dec. If you can, highlight the changed info in the PDF, and attach a note which explains the situation.

Processing time listed on the website is the cumulative amount of months every application is estimated to be processed in. So, members on here shouldn't be expecting to wait that long. Average wait times seem to be between 13-16 months.

That's fine, as long as the information is provided. It may take a little longer for immigration to sort through them, but the important thing is that they're uploaded to your application

I submitted everything on the 16th January 2018, so now it's back to the waiting game! Our email request came from the Jakarta Australian Embassy, really hoping it won't be too much longer.

It's hard to estimate on here as some people have been lucky enough to receive the grant a few days after submitting their final pieces of evidence but others have waited another 6-9 months....eek. It's going to be a tense wait from here.

Would love to hear some success stories of fast visa grants after submitting your medical & police checks

Wishing you all the best of luck and short waiting times.

Applied onshore: 3rd May 2017
Medical & Police checks requested: 4th Jan 2018
Medical & Police checks submitted: 16th Jan 2018
Average wait times are around 13-16 months, but applications processed in offshore offices seem to be processed much sooner (6-12 months). I would continue anticipating waiting a year, however.

Hi Everyone

I applied 15th Feb 2017 and I have finally had my 'request for more info' email yeyyy

I was wondering if someone could help..

They have asked for a police check for my partner (which is fine, he has a recent one I can attach) but they have also asked for a police check for anywhere he has lived for more than 12months.. he travelled Europe for just over a year but never in one place for more than a few weeks- Do I just need to let them know that he hasn't lived anywhere but Australia for more than 12 months??

They have also asked for more info to prove a defacto relationship and I'm all out of options. I have;

- Joint lease
- Joint utility bill
- Joint bank account
- Plane tickets/pictures from a holiday we took together
- Various pictures
- 2 stat decs
- Relationship Certificate

Anyone any ideas of what else I could provide?! Panic mode!!

Thank you so much in advance

Emily

Hi Emily,

You could add a few more stat decs, a detailed listing of your joint expenses / account, any receipts of household items would help. If you guys are on social media - screenshots of your relationship history, mutual friends, and tagged events together can be useful, super beneficiary info, scans of greeting cards addressed to you both, emergency contact info for work

Hope this helps
