I have submitted all additional documents on Jan. 15, 2018. My ImmiAccount says Assessment in Progress. How long do we usually have to wait for the decision after submitting the additional documents?

Hi, Nov 3,2017 CO requested afp and nbi. Both uploaded Nov 28, 2017. Still waiting for grant:rolleyes:

My hubby’s AFP has few records or overspeeding under the influence of alcohol 40 years ago (i wasn’t born yet..lmao) Will it affect our application?

Cheers,

It says on immigration page that applications are being processed by their date yet there's so many people here who've only waited 6 months and they've got it? How does that make sense? :(

You bridging Visa A doesn't come into effect until after your current visa (457) expires. So, you're actually not on a bridging visa right now! I'm not sure how that works with not looking for a new sponsor for your 457. I'm assuming it would just expire and then your BVA would come into effect, but I'm not sure. Perhaps make a separate thread for this issue, and I'm sure you'd get a more accurate answer. Good luck!

801 difference to 820

Hi,

Could someone please explain what the difference will be between the application I made for my 820, and my soon to complete 801?

Obviously to proove the continuing relationship we all evidence, stat decs and including the four aspects etc, but are there actual forms to fill out again? IE Form 47SP?

Thanks,
Emma

Hi Emma,

There are some questions to fill out in the online application (you can only apply online now) like with the 801. The application is shorter, and like you said involves talking about your relationship from the grant of the 820.

- Your partner will need to fill out a paper form (which they can download and fill out on word) here: https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/Visas...ec_sponsor.pdf

- You will also need at least two 888's again. It can be from the same witnesses as last time, or new ones.

- A new AFP check for both you and your partner, and in the event you spent 12+ in an overseas country while on your 820, a new offshore police check for that country.

Those are the "required" documents, of course similar supporting items like joint bills, memberships, social networking activity, new photos with family + friends are suggested! Good luck!

Thank you! I applied for the 820 via paper application, therefore:

- Do I have to apply via paper for 801?
- If yes, where do I get the paper application forms?
- Can you send off the paper application a couple months before the 2 year date, in the hope the application gets put into the queue and speeds up processing?
- Should the 801 evidence only be from date granted for 820. Or include also the time between lodging 820 to lodging 801?

Thanks, lots of questions!

The 820 visa application could take 20 to 25 months.
By saying that 75% of the application is processed within 20 months and 90% is processed within 25 months.

It is a long time but hang in there as some of the applications are getting approved way before 20 to 25 months.

Hi Emma, all applications have to be done online now through immi. If you haven't already, you will have to make an immi account. The process is pretty straight forward after you put all your details in :)

- You can apply two months prior to your eligibility date, but processing goes by your eligibility date regardless

- Evidence provided should detail your relationship progression from the grant of the 820, no time before that.

Hi All,

Any advice will be grateful, I applied for my partner visa 820 first stage in March 2017 and am yet to hear from Immigration, please should I be worried due to my previous visa status (I applied for refugee visa was denied).

Will appreciate any advice plus does it take this long for the first stage? Thanks
