Dear all,
I am so glad to share the good news here. My 801 was granted after over 24 months' waiting. I lodged my application online. My case was assigned to Victoria Office in Melbourne.

I applied for the visa after 14 months living together with my partner. We dated 1 year before that 14 months. Below is a brief version of the whole process.
--------------------
Lodgement: April 2016
First request for more info: Dec 2017
Second request for more info: April 2018 (5 days before 2 years’ anniversary)
Third request for more info: 23 April 2018
Today I emailed to request to waive the third request. The grant email came about 15 mins after.
-----------------------------
Just in case any of you might want to know a bit more details. Please see below.
-------------------------------
Lodgement: April 2016
3 X 888 Statutory Declaration Forms
Lease contract to prove we lived together for more than 1 year prior to applying.
Financial: joint bank account statements (I updated the statements every half year)
Social: photos of occasions we attended as a couple. This includes multiple times of catching up with friends, one trip to China and one wedding.
Household arrangement: this was done in a textual statement as part of the very long application form. I also attached water account statement and electricity bills.
Commitment to each other: emergency acceptance and surgery bill as I was injured prior to applying. We added notes to demonstrate we overcome tough times and built up strong commitment to each other.
---------------------
Feb 2017
Uploaded additional information: another trip to China and updated bank statements. There was 1.5 years we lived with his parents to save money for our first home. During this time, I paid extra attention to update our joint saving account statement to show that the savings grew consistently and more rapidly as we had no bills and lease agreement to prove we lived together.
---------------------------
July 2017
Uploaded home loan settlement documents (joint liability), joint ownership certificate of

our dog, receipts of the purchases to set up our new home, and change of address forms.
------------------------------------------
Dec 2017
Received first request from case team: Current evidence of relationship.
In respond, I uploaded updated bank statements, our dog’s vaccination bills and surgery bills (spayed operation), one relationship statement signed by us, and another statement about our new home arrangement.
-------------------------------------
Jan 2018
Uploaded our de facto relationship registration certificate. We decided to do that one day for no reason and the certificate came through one day then I uploaded to Immi account.
----------------------------
April 2018
Second request for more information: updated AFP police check and medical check. Supplied both one week later.
----------------------------------------
23 April 2018
Third request for more information: updated AFP police check to include my former name (I changed my name 18 years ago, long before my first arrival at Australia).
-----------------------------------------
Today 27 April 2018
I decided to email to request to waive the request with relevant documents attached. The grant email came through soon after that.

Congratulations Stella so glad you got your 801 after a long wait! Nice way to start the weekend!

Hello! I was wondering if anyone went through a similar route as myself:

I was previously on student visa and after that expired, I applied for Partner (Temporary) (class UK) Partner (subclass 820) visa. So I am currently on BVC - received on 29 Jan 2018.

As my partner and I are planning on moving out after our lease ends, I was hoping to be able to work to help with finances. Is there a way for me to apply for a working visa?

All answers are appreciated. Thank you!

After almost exactly 10 months we got our visa grant this week! I had uploaded the requested AFP and emailed the person that requested it as per the request letter. The next day my husband got a call from Home Affairs to say his passport was expired so he wouldn't be able to travel (we knew this and had applied for a new one but haven't got it yet). Anyway my husband told him he should have it in a few weeks, the guy said ok and about 10 minutes later visa was granted! I thought it was nice of them to call about the passport and am curious as to whether it was just a courtesy or something else? Anyway not fussed because my husband has his visa!!! Now just have to hang out another 14 months before starting this all again. So glad the visa is granted though :).

Hey guys,

After 28 months waiting for my 820, last week I got straight 801!! Yes without 820 granted before that!!

This is my timeline:

DOL - 18 Dec 2015, Onshore, Paper application via Victoria Ofiice
BVA Granted - 21 Dec 2015
More info - 21 Dec 2015 (Health Check)

Then no news at all.

15 months - call them - got ignored "we are unable to give any update since your application is still within our timeline.

Sent them Australian police check without them asking just to make them realise how long I have been waiting.

18 months - still no news. I call tem again and still got ignored. In fact, they cut the line because I complained a lot! Haha

23 months - Received email asking for Personal particular for character assessment and more evidence of our relationship. We have provided everything before so this time we only sent them more photograph of our activities together, joint gym membership letter etc

25 months - Finally my application is outside their timeline (24 months). Call them but the girl on the line unable to give any update. She asked me to email processing centre. Emailed them for an update. I took them 2 weeks to reply. In their reply, they acknowledge that my application is outside their timeline but "please note that each application is pocesssed on a case by case basis and some case may require further processing than other"

26 months - Request for more info (Health check, police check from Malaysia and copy of my passport because I have changed my passport before). Sent them all the details within 28 days and after 3 weeks nothing happened.

27 months - Email them again asking for and update. After 2 weeks, no reply and last week I got an email of my 801.

Good luck everyone.

Hi PixieEve,

You can use this link. https://ekonsular.kln.gov.my/ Just register and you can start applying for it. Once the status change to "ready for collection, you can go to the nearest Malaysian consulate to collect it. Btw you need to call the consulate 2-3 days before you come and collect as they need to print it from the system.

Let me know if you still have any issue by PM me.
