Once the status change to "ready for collection, you can go to the nearest Malaysian consulate to collect it. Btw you need to call the consulate 2-3 days before you come and collect as they need to print it from the system.

Let me know if you still have any issue by PM me.

You need to call them. Maybe you have provided them with wrong passport number or NIRC.

Delighted to post that our 820 visa was granted last night!

We applied onshore June 2017. I’ve read a few posts where people have emailed following the grant to request being considered for the 801 based on their length of relationship and children in the relationship - do you respond to the email the grant came from?

It would have been nice to be granted the 801 at the same time but I am just so glad to have the 820 visa!

Hey everyone! I've been reading this post for a while.. thanks for all the help and information. The waiting game is the worst!! Feel so disheartened when I see people who also applied in dec 2016 have already been granted - just hoping it wont be much longer. I'm from the UK and have been here in aus for just over 3 years - with my partner for 4 years.

Applied for 820 : 22 Dec 2016

Front loaded all documents including both our police checks, and as much evidence as we could put together. I believe its a strong application.

Completed my medical in March 2018.

No contact from the department at all - its been 16months now. Really hope i hear something soon!

I applied for a BVB last june to go home and visit family. Do you think applying for another BVB to visit family this year will delay my application? or should I just wait and hope that my 820 is granted soon! Processing times are 16-22 months

good luck everyone!

Don't be afraid to complaint as this is becoming a joke for all applicants. They should hire more staff instead of increasing the processing times. It infuriates me how this is becoming a disrespectful process for partner visa applicants. Only this year they increased processing times 4 times! It started 12/13-15 then 15-17- then 16-20 and then 20-25 months!

We have not heard anything back yet which seems to be fairly normal, based on this thread.

However I requested on the website for them to tell me where I was in the queue. Whilst they didn’t acknowledge this, they did tell me that our visa was in Jakarta for processing. I took this as good news as know a lot of the UK visas seem to have relatively quick turnarounds out of Jakarta. We have already frontloaded everything (incl police checks) except for the health check, we are tempted to lock this in though as have been reading a lot about Jakarta processed visas coming through within 6-11 months.
I would love to hear about the level of contact people have had with the Jakarta office and how long their visas took to be processed there.

Also my partners visa has said status ‘received’ ever since we lodged it. Where my sponsor application shows ‘submitted’ – is this normal?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can shed any light.

Has anyone had any success stories with a complaint?

I'm sure we're not the only couple to be frustrated by the waiting times, and as I am happy to hear each story and the waiting times involved. It is annoying to see people who have applied months after we have already had their 820/801 granted.
