Please update your flag here .

Good evening guys, I've been a silent follower of this forum, been scrolling through all kind of posts on here.
Congratulations to those that have recently received their grant!! 😁
I Hope to find some people that have applied last year to see how the progress is going?
We've applied 05/04/2017 onshore through an Agent and now we're just waiting for my overseas Police clearance to arrive. I'm from a low risk country. Went for my Medical mid August after I've been requested to do so. There was no other correspondence except for my Partners police clearance in Dec/17.
I'd be very happy to read some updates on here! ☺️

Hi friends, we received a letter form IMMI and asked us to provide the following eveidence,

"Please provide relationship photographs evidence (previous and ongoing relationship). Request details: Evidence of your relationship with your spouse
The decision maker must be satisfied that you and your spouse:
● are validly married under Australian law
● have a mutual commitment to a shared life as a married couple to the exclusion of all
others
● have a relationship that is genuine and continuing
● live together; or do not live separately and apart on a permanent basis.
To assist in deciding your application the decision maker must have regard to all of the
circumstances of your relationship with your spouse including: the financial aspects of the
relationship, the nature of the household, the social aspects of the relationship and the
nature of your commitment to each other."

What does it mean? It seems that the case officer is requesting photo evidences only, not writing documents, is it correct? We uploaded our wedding photos, honeymoon photos and some others photos with families and friends last year. Not sure what else do we need to provide.

Could anyone please give us some ideas? What proper evidences we need to provide? Much appreciated!! 🙂

We uploaded lots of documents as per request mentioned in the 820 checklist. The letter we received yesterday asked us to provide Medical Check, AFP and relationship photographs evidence (previous and ongoing relationship). For relationship photographs evidence, does it mean the CO is requesting photos only, not writen documents, correct? Thanks

I'm not a professional, but if you want my opinion, it sounds to me like they want more photos. Maybe they missed the ones you uploaded or they weren't able to see them, or maybe they want more of your relationship since.

I wouldn't question it. Just provide photos covering what they listed beneath the request, and try to get some of other people with you. So not just the two of you getting married but a shot of people watching it, and so on. Try putting the photos in a word doc then saving as a pdf and uploading that way and make sure to label the file clear so they know it's a new upload, like "COrequested_Photographs" or something similar.

Hey everyone!

As I have been a regular visitor of this forum for a few years, I would like to thank everyone for all the helpful posts and information found here. It was my main source of information (besides the immigration website) for my application.
Today, we received the 820 grant notification and I would like to give you our course of events.

Arrived in Australia: Sept. 2012
Applied 820/801: Aug. 2017
Generic email saying that my application will be processed soon: Feb. 2018
Medicals done: Feb. 2018
Request for priority processing sent: 19 Aug. 2018
Request for AFP checks for both: 20 Aug. 2018
Uploaded AFP checks: 29 Aug. 2018
Granted: 30 Aug. 2018

A few things to add: My partner and I have been together since I arrived in Australia without interruption (not sure why 801 hasn't been granted straightaway). In November, our daughter was born and we are getting married next month too. I lodged a change of circumstances for everything and uploaded new evidence regularly.

Then, on the 19th of August, I sent a request for priority processing as my dad is very ill and we are all moving to Germany for a few years (I got a 2 year contract there). I couldn't actually provide any evidence for that besides my dads medical records but the next day I received the request for the AFP checks. For some reason the AFP checks had to be resubmitted. I already included them in the initial documents upload. I uploaded the AFP checks yesterday on the 29th and sent an email that I did so. This morning a different case officer wrote that they didn't receive my partners AFP clearance and I just wrote back that I uploaded it and asked if I can just email it to them (I was running around with my daughter so couldn't actually do anything more than that). By lunch time the grant notification was sent out.

Now I'm heading straight to centrelink to make sure they adjust all the parenting payments for baby and sort my parental leave pay. If anyone needs any help with parental leave and parenting support while waiting for the 820, let me know. We found not all centrelink staff knows what to do in that case.

So thanks again and I hope those people still waiting will get some good news soon.
Hang in there

Well centrelink did take it's time for us too. We had to go there and correct mistakes and confirm our daughters birth probably 5 times. But it was worth the hassle, as we managed to claim and receive Dad & Partner Pay, Parenting Pay and Family Tax Benefit A&B for my partner.

What applies in our case (and yours likely too) is this one:
"2.2.5.50 Discretion to Treat a Person as Not Being a Member of a Couple for a Special Reason" under Section 24.
That makes your partner a single parent for parenting and tax benefit payments as long as you don't work.

The awesome lady at our centrelink branch that helped us correct all the mistakes in the system made us aware of this and sorted everything out. So it's a good idea to ask for someone that either assesses or reviews family claims (not all branches process them). Then they will have access to your complete file and can correct things, make notes etc.

She now reviews our case with the temporary visa granted. I might be able to claim parental leave now and all the other payments have to be adjusted to the couple rates. But she wasn't 100% sure. It might all stay the same ad I won't receive anything.

I hope that helps with your next centrelink visit. If you are not happy with the outcome or notice you receive always go in and let them check it. 9 out of 10 times they made a mistake (in our experience).
