BVB's don't expire, only the travel facility does.

There would be no reason if someone was onshore to wait to grant their 820 until the BVB travel facility expires as they 1) Are onshore already and immigration knows this based on the passport movement records, and 2) The 820 allows travel anyway. Basically, if they're finalizing the application and ready to grant, they would just grant it if the person was onshore. If the person is offshore, they can't grant the 820 anyway so they'd obviously wait until they're back onshore.

I guess what I meant was: until the person is onshore - not expire :)

If they can't grant the 820 while the person is offshore then my speculation is moot, and that explains it! The application is never on hold, but a decision is till onshore.

So as I said I received the request for Me and my daughter to do the Medical Examination last 31st October. It says there that we are given 28 days. I uploaded the confirmation of our booking the other day as we are supposed to have the Medical exam tomorrow morning. Apparently I got my period (menstruation) today so I have to reschedule the medical for next week. The thing is it will pass the 28 days timeframe given to me. What shall I do? I'm worried. I don't want it to alte/delay our application. Please advise. Thank you so much in advance.

If you've already uploaded the confirmation for the medical exam booking, do the same when you reschedule. Also, if they provided an email on the request, I'd send a quick email as well, stating that you've booked the medical, then needed to rebook and that should suffice. They realise that some things take time, and by you showing you've booked and will complete them, this lets them know that you are complying with the request. Don't stress! You're close if they are asking for medicals. :)

We received a request for an updated Police Check from NZ....

"...A new Police clearance certificate is required, as the one you have provided was issued on 12/02/2018, and is more than 6 months old so we are unable to confirm the document with the NZ Ministry of Justice. Please refer to the 'Police check' section at https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/about/ contact/offices-locations/new-zealand for more information.

We have requested it as required...but I thought Police Checks last 12 months??

I've seen people get away with police certificates just over 12 months old and others asked for them when they've spent less than 12 months in a country cumulatively. I guess there are always exceptions. According to their website though, police certificates for immigration purposes are valid for 12 months.

Thanks so much for that. No mention anywhere on the home affairs website that NZ checks only last 6 months that I can see... (but interestingly for New Zealand immigration, police checks only last 6 months.)
Kind of strange, but whatever they want we will supply in order to get a yes!! :D

I applied for my 801/820 partner visa de-facto visa on the 23/12/2017

I just received an email from the case officer requesting for more information. On the check list the officer asks for a:-

police clearance certificate - which I can provide

Health exam - which I can provide

Birth certificate - which I can provide

Evidence of your relationship with your de facto partner

My problem is with the last one I have already uploaded a lot of evidence in regards to our relationship. Including social photos, joint lease, Joint bank account,stat decs, invitations etc.

What more could they want me to upload? If anyone could help or someone who had a similar experience could tell me what did they did it would be much appreciated.

It's hard to say without knowing what evidences you've already provided. Taking a stab in the dark, here are some ideas: superannuation statements showing each other as beneficiaries, each listed as emergency contacts at employment and on children's school records, mail addressed to both, joint bills, joint car insurance, wills showing each other as beneficiary, private health insurance policy listing us as a family, linked accounts (flybuys, rewards cards, etc.). We also used show tickets with pictures from the event when we attended them, we used our linked Facebook pages (showing our relationship), screenshots of us at family/social events taken from other's Facebook pages. We also each included stat decs, along with filling in the boxes on the applications.

These are just some ideas of things we supplied as evidence. Hope that helps.

My superannuation beneficiary document listing her, Joint lease agreement, Joint bank accounts, Individual bank statements showing transactions between us, Joint travel, Hotel bookings, Concert tickets, 2 x Form 888 supporting witness, Photos of social gatherings, Joint invitations, facebook messages, emails, joint costco membership, registered relationship certificate, license showing our same address, stat decs from friends, joint statements from us.

I am a bit worried that they are asking for more. :(
