Request for country national identification card

Hi, I was hoping someone could offer some advice on my situation :) We received a communication from our case officer requesting additional information - including health check, form 80, police certificate from my partners home country, these are all fine. The other document requested was a national identification card. My partner is from Japan and as far as we both know no such id card exists in Japan. When we filled in the application we selected that my partner does not have a national identification document. We emailed the CO (located in the Philippines?) and we received a generic reply saying just provide all of the document requested. Has anyone else been in this situation/know if a Japanese national identity card does exist?
Any help appreciated! thanks :)

Contact case officer

Hi Guys!

Long time lurker here, first time poster.

Just had some great news that my 820 has been granted after 11 months waiting :)

However, not to sound ungrateful, but had been hoping to be immediately granted the 801 visa as I've lived with Australian partner here in Aus for last 8 years, and now have a dependant child. Both the request for consideration, plus evidence of this provided in original application.

I know it's not a guarantee, but I was hoping to make contact with the case officer in Jakarta to ask if these circumstances have been considered. However the grant notification comes from a No Reply address, and other than name and position number, there are no contact details for the case officer.

I also filled in Australian Immigration Enquiry Form (can't post link as I'm a new member) but received an automated reply stating that it was only for certain correspondence (820/801 not included).

Any other suggestions on how I might get in touch?

https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/help...s-enquiry-form Try this one. Explain your situation and that you would like to know why you weren't considered as meeting the long term relationship criteria when you supplied evidence of your relationship over the 8 year period. (Just remember time dating doesn't count).

Thanks a million Skybluebrewer!

I submitted an enquiry through that form too, it may or may not have helped as I just received a reply from the original enquiry.... Along with MY 801 GRANT NOTIFICATION 10 mins later - I couldn't be happier!!

For anyone reading along - it's definitely worth reaching out to the department if you are in a similar situation. That one email has saved me years on the citizenship quest, not to mention the extra worry and data collection :)

For anyone interested, my obligatory timeline:

Hi everyone, I have a question someone may be able to answer.

My partner and I have recently applied for her 820 visa onshore. She is currently on a tourist visa. The tourist visa says it expires in September but she can only stay for 3 months at a time. Do you know if the bridging visa will start after the 3 months
(in march), or will it start in September?

Thanks!

When the current stay expires. Do a VEVO check for the exact date and the BVA will go into effect the day after that, assuming she hasn't gone offshore and back again to reset the stay period.

Thanks so much for the response! That is great to know.

Follow up question. We're going to greece in July for a wedding. So if her BVA comes into effect in March. Then we apply for a BVB for July so she can leave and return. When we return will she remain on the bridging visa or will the tourist visa kick in again and reset the period. Confusing situation :p

Thanks for the help!

If the BVA goes into effect, and she gets a BVB for travel, then when she returns she'll remain on the BVB with the same work conditions as the BVA. The BVB has only a limited window of travel though, so don't confuse still holding a BVB as being able to travel on it (others have made this mistake and paid for it). Always a good idea to print the grant letter and highlight the important dates.

My wife (German) who is currently on a BVA just got an Oz police check request from immi for her 820 (coming from PMV 300). About a 4 month wait.

PMV 300 applied: 29/10/17
PMV 300 granted: 06/01/18

820 applied: 06/09/18
PCC request: 11/01/19

Hi all,

Applied for 820/801 from a PMV 300 visa early last year. Still waiting after a year. Recently received this automated email from immi on the anniversary of the application date of 820/801

"Subject: Your Australian Partner (subclass 820) visa application is progressing

Automated message from the Department of Home Affairs

We are writing to inform you that your application for a Partner visa is in progress. Your application takes time to process as we complete a number of thorough checks."

Does this mean the grant will be coming soon or is it just a generic email sent on the anniversary of applications?
