Hello, i want to ask people who already got married coming from 300 prospective marriage visa about name change.
I’m a girl from romania who will marry my australian fiancee in Australia. I know i can choose to change my name to his name But what does that imply for me? Do i need to go back to my country and register the marriage as well? And So i can change my name official and ID, passport, etc?? How i apply for another visa? With my name or his? If i won’t go back and have a new ID with my new name?? Someone who been through this please answer. |

It wasn't essential though as she could have retained her old name in her countries passport, and waited till an Australian passport for that change. Even though she came via the PMV, she didn't change her name for immigration until late 2018, just before the 801 was granted. She had changed it for various things like bank accounts though, from when we were married, in 2016. Name changes for most things are done using the marriage certificate. |
What do you mean by:” she didn't change her name for immigration until late 2018” ??
She applied for both 820 and 801 with her maiden name? How to do that and then use husbands name to get work and bank account?? It s not illegal to use 2 names at same time? I m confused about it Quote:

It is not illegal to use both names. She actually has one bank account still in her maiden name as well as using her married name on the joint account, at the same bank. We did the immigration name change only due to the name change for her passport. |
Hey Guys...
Just wondering if anyone has received the following email: Subject: Your Australian Partner (subclass 820) visa application is progressing Automated message from the Department of Home Affairs Application reference: XXXX Dear XXXX We are writing to inform you that your application for a Partner visa is in progress. Your application takes time to process as we complete a number of thorough checks. You can login to ImmiAccount to check the status of your application https://online.immi.gov.au/lusc/login More information about global processing times is available from www.homeaffairs.gov.au/processing-times Do not reply. (Blanked out name & reference ID) Is this a general email you receive at the 12 month mark or is it possible this is something you receive when your application is actually progressing? The email seems unclear... Maybe I’m being terribly hopeful... after 12 months of waiting the anxiety of it all is something I’m hoping will come to end soon. Here’s to wishful thinking... Anyone who’s received this, has this been following up by much else? Thanks guys. |

Hello!
I would like some help to understand about the new visa step for sponsor approval. When you come from a PMV 300 applying to a 820 Partner Visa? If PMV was granted before the change, when applyiong to 820 the new sponsor approval will be required? We got our PMV300 granted last April, getting married in July and applying 820 end of July. Thanks for your help, |
I HAVE A QUESTION PLEASE ,,
I already granted PMV 2 YEARS AGO ,,, NOW WAITING FOR VISA 820 PROCESSING FOR 1 YEAR TILL NOW Me and my partner could not get a baby beacuse of some medical issues. And i heard that i can not granted the permenant visa .801 after 2 years since applying 820/801 unless we have a baby in this 2 years Is that right ?? or i will wait the permenant visa granted or not after 5 years as we have no babies IS THAT CORRECT ??? |
