Hi Jo
This appears to be the standard automated email they send as processing gets a bit closer. We got our email at the beginning of April. As we had already submitted all the items mentioned we took no further action except to update our two police clearance as they reached the twelve month validity mark. We did not re-do our original Form 80. Still waiting. Hope this helps a bit. Cheers.

Thanks Mish and Dinkum. Once the immi website is back up I will go on and try to have a look at the guide to applying online. I am sure they never mentioned this form before and I thought my form- filling time was over !!!

Seems a bit inefficient to me - why not include the extra questions from Form 80 on the online questionnaire, instead of duplicating the online questionnaire in a paper form with additional questions?

Oh well, who knows how the government decides these things!

I just got an email from the temporary partner processing centre in Perth saying that they are about to allocate me a case officer and to check I have uploaded all my documents.

I applied online on 9th Feb 2014 and I am from the UK.

It is an automated e-mail as it goes through every single point from medical to police check to relationship evidence to personal details etc.

However one strange thing is right at the top it says this:

"Form 80 - Personal particulars for character assessment:
If you have not already done so, download and complete Form 80 (available from our website at http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/pdf/80.pdf ). Please pay particular attention to Questions 21 to 26. It is essential that every period of time is accounted for, with no gaps in the timeline of your residence, employment and education histories. Any gaps in information will delay processing."

Seems a bit strange to me since I already filled out that huge long online questionnarie that seems to contain all the questions that this form above contains.

Since I have already answered everything in the appropriate manner through the online system, I am sure I already have all the correct documents etc uploaded.

But I am not sure why they are including this Form 80 thing in the auto - email?

Anyone else got any clearer ideas?

Thank you and fingers crossed to getting it processed soon!
Jo

Hi all, I also just received this email this morning, also from WA. I applied for the 820 onshore online the first week of Feb. 2014. My submission was decision ready (as far as I know anyways). I think all of the required documents are done already, I am pretty sure I did the Form 80 and included it with my submission in Feb.

Does this mean I am likely to receive the grant soon or is there a strong chance there is still going to be a lengthy wait?

Cheers guys!

Hello,

I applied onshore for 820 from a PMV online. It was lodged on the 23rd of May this year and was granted 13th of June. It came as a total surprise. That was faster than expected. Best of luck to everyone waiting for their approval. I hope you get yours soon too.

Congrats!

Applying from a PMV is usually a lot faster than applying from scratch, as you have already been through the visa application process.

FYI for everyone else - I bit the bullet and filled out the Form 80 this arvo. That's another couple of hours lost ! they do ask some interesting questions on this one! like , my entire employment history from birth.. sigh...

@jeh6050 Thanks. That is what they all say on here as well when I was asking info before applying. I don't know if it was just me but the whole visa processing always stresses me out. Mind you it was my 3rd one. I have gone through tourist to PMV then comes the 820. Oh the joy of visa processing eh. All comes with different stress levels.

Oh wow, well done you. That form is the dreaded amongst all forms there is to accomplish.

Two weeks since applying and it still hasn't been granted...

Just kidding, I know we've got more than a year to go What irritates me though is that feeling of knowing that we have applied and were waiting does not disappear. Does it ever? Do you ever forget that you've actually applied?

I just try to live a normal life as possible and try not to focus on it because it's something not in our control. I admit i do check the latest visa status online regularly though.

I didn't. Every day was different levels of anticipation/anxiety. On the days when it got the worst, I'd vent here. Thank goodness for this great little community.
