Hello! Friends
I wanted to share here the good news about my 820 granted in 2 months time (coming from PMV300). Now, I have a question, for 801, its there any other application or its an automatically process the request for 801? Thanks |
Hey,
Hoping someone may have had a similar experience to myself, or may know why... I applied for my combined 820/801 in May 2018. Currently 17 months ago. At the time I lodged what I considered a front loaded application, since then I’ve not heard anything from the department of home affairs (not unusual) Last week I applied for a Bridging Visa B so I can go and visit family overseas during the Christmas period. They granted the bridging visa B for 12 months. Is this unusually long? Is my assumption correct that it’s unlikely they will consider my application during this following 12 month period? Assuming they don’t consider my application till after May 2020, that will be 2 years since I lodged my application. Would they consider the 820 and 801 together? Thanks heaps for any advice... |

I am on a similar timeline. 820 application in June 2018. All documents submitted. Just waiting for the grant. I'm surprised they gave 12 months BVB. :) It's very unusual to get BVB for such a long time. After reading so many posts, I assume you can raise a request to immigration on the status of your application when they cross their timeline. Currently its somewhere between 20 to 29 months. however, once you have crossed 24 months from 820 application date you are eligible for 820 & 801 grant. How many days did you request the BVB for? Did you provide the air tickets while applying for BVB? |

Yeah best case scenario I’m hoping I don’t get a grant till after the two year mark so it can be a double whammy approval! I did submit my airline tickets, (4 weeks through December) so I’ve got no idea why the 12 months approval... unusual hey? Who knows the rationale behind anything they do... Good luck with it all! |

Hey. Exactly the same situation here. Online application made September 2018. Applied for Bridging B for a 2 week holiday in August 2019, and received for 12 months. Not ideal to be pulled from the queue for 12 months. Can anyone confirm if that is still the way it works?[/QUOTE]
Hi, I'm similar as you onshore application August 2018 and applied Bridging B for 2 weeks family holiday in June 2019. I received 3 months validity only not 12 months. My applications still "received" and nothing from immigration so far. Still waiting for CO or decision 😊 |

Due to the applications taking longer and complaints they would be getting about having to apply for multiple bridging visa B's they are probably just getting them for longer |
