hello @justine88

I am the visa applicant and I am currently on my student visa.
I applied for my Medicare right after the visa application and have been using it (Medicare card) since.

Red face Medicare Card whilst Student Visa

A couple of questions i'm hoping people might have the answers for...
My partner and I have just applied for 820/801 in Sep (obviously still waiting to be assigned a CO). He is currently on a student visa active until Nov 2020; however, he will finish his study in Dec of this year. I understand that the BVA that he has been granted and that is currently not active, will come into effect in Nov 2020 once his Student Visa expires naturally... However, my question is: as he will have finished his study in Dec of this year will he then be granted full work rights/Medicare prior to Nov 2020? Is anyone aware of how we go about investigating/any application process for this?
I know we are in a better position applying for 820/801 when we did rather than waiting until Nov next year as that would have put us however many months further behind but it will be highly frustrating if his work/medicare rights do not change until such time.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks

Congratulations that's a great news! May I asked how long have you been together? I've applied onshore in 10 August 2018 and the IMMI send me an email just saying my visa application in progress. I have a child 6,5yo which is Australian. Hopefully I'll heard the news soon

What visa were you on before the 820 application?

Hi guys,
I lodged 820 application 05/2017 by paper/post. Just got an email from immi office required more info.

The question is how do I submit the requested documents? Apparently not via immi account since I lodged by post? The email doesnít explain clear enough.

Has anyone submitted documents after lodged application by paper/post initially? And how did you submit? Please share, highly appreciated.

Thanks

Please help

Hi everyone,

Ive got a question would really appreciate if someone can help or was in a similar situation

We Lodged our 820 partner visa in June 2018 and my partner was asked to do a police check from the sponsorship team in December 2018 which we uploaded straight away. It has been 17 months since we lodged our partner visa and have not heard from them since then. Is anyone in a similar situation?.. is this usually normal?. I have still not been granted an 820 visa yet. Has anyone been contacted by this team previously?

Thanks
