Hopefully you're more patient than I am. ;)

Just kidding, I know we've got more than a year to go :) What irritates me though is that feeling of knowing that we have applied and were waiting does not disappear. Does it ever? Do you ever forget that you've actually applied?

Haha it did for us but that was because we were waiting for the marriage certificate so had no stress about ot because figured nothing would happen until we attached the marriage certificate .... we were wrong.

Has anyone not filled out form 80? I received the same email as jeh6050 stating that I will be soon allocated to a case officer. It would be great to know immi's definition of "soon", haha I can only imagine..... I thought my appilcation was fully decision ready but upon reviewing the many many forms and documents uploaded I realize I did not previously submit form 80. I have police checks from AUS and the US and I guess I figured that would cover my character assesment, not to mention at first glance it looks like 90% of form 80 is the same as the 820 application itself.... Does anyone know if it is really necessary to include form 80? The efficiency of the immi dept. astounds me....

I think it is better for you to fill out form80 just to ensure it does not slow down your application. I have heard cases where case officers request ppl to submit orm 80 cause they idn't. However though there was another member that did not fill it out and still got approved but his advice was it is still better to fill it out and submit it.

Thanks for the advice lildevil, I guess I will just get it done! :(.. What is one more hoop to jump through at this point? Not much I suppose!

Do any others know how long it took other applicants to hear from their case officer after getting them email saying they would be allocated to a case officer "soon"? Thanks guys!

Probably not 100 % necessary for low-risk countries but I'd still include it as it COULD delay your application in case the ask you to provide it later.

Ok so it is more for high risk countries then low risk countries. That makes more sense. I am going to hold off on submitting it and see what happens. I will report back to the group if anyone else is interested in this

Found out we got a case officer because they emailed us asking for a police certificate. Since they are asking for this certificate, does it mean we are very close in getting the 820?

Hi Thesmoothsuit, did you receive the email before stating that you were soon to be allocated a case officer?

Or did you only get the email out of the blue from your case officer?

Also, did you submit form 80 with your application?

Congrats on getting a case officer, you must be close!

Thanks!

Hello,

I just got a case officer out of the blue by the persons name and title. No previous email said we were about to be assigned one.

We submitted form 80 on the initial application.

They want a police certificate but I don't have a scanner. The Australian Federal Police website says that you can use a camera create jpgs of the 100 point ID documents.

I wonder if I can use a camera to create a jpg of the consent form too?
