They may not have got it wrong.
Maybe they are trying to see if you are actually eligible to get the 801 grant immediately after the 820, instead of waiting?

Depending on what evidences you can supply you may get that advantage.

I hope that is the case. I cannot prove much. We didn't live together aside from one month when he visited me, or shared finances. We can only provide social evidences, unfortunately!

Hi everyone Please help..
After 18 long months of waiting and applying for our partner visa we have heard back again and I have been requested to provide some more information like police checks for myself and form 80. My partner was asked to do her police checks last year December.
We have been together for about 4 years now and were living together for about 9months when we applied for our visa. Is there something we can do now to speed up our process and perhaps be considered to get both our 820 and 801 approved together?.. Would appreciate some feedback or tips on this. Thanks

We Lodged our 820 partner visa in June 2018 and my partner was asked to do a police check from the sponsorship team in December 2018 which we uploaded straight away. It has been 17 months since we lodged our partner visa and have not heard from them since then. Is anyone in a similar situation?.. is this usually normal?. I have still not been granted an 820 visa yet. Has anyone been contacted by this team previously?

Thanks
Hi there,
My case is similar:
I've applied December 28 2017 for temporary partner visa (previously on PMV) and still waiting, 23 months now.
I'm low risk country (Germany). I've received two notifications "Application in progress" on Dec 2018 and June 2019 so far.

I applied in Nov 2017and they asked for medical checks in March 2018 or so.
It's now been 24 months and I just received another emailed stating "application in progress".
Was really hoping for some good news seeing as I'm at the 2 year mark now. 😕

I did my visa medical today. I was pretty nervous however it took only an hour of the two hours they say to allocate. My police certificate also arrived in the mail. Nothing else to do now except for wait I guess. Does anyone have a vague idea of how long it takes after submitting medical / police certificate for the 820 to be granted?

It could go really quick or take a while.

I did my medical in early 2018 and I received an email yesterday saying it's now expired and they want me to do another one.

Unfortunately the timeline is unique to every applicant.

I'm just annoyed that I need to do a medical again.

Hi Swaanderling, did you apply for 820/801 online with an immi account? If yes after uploading police cert and any further doc you wish, and of course do medical check, you have the option in immi account to click a button to finalise uploading, basically it meant I have done everything I can and provide all docs/evidence requested, CO please check and finalise my application. I did the same and the decision was made barely 1 week after.

Just a quick update on my application:
Both 820 and 801 granted on the same day --- 820 first then 801 grant minutes after I got my 820.

Applied August 2017. Got a request for medical/police clearances January 2018, then never heard anything from the immigration again, until I was asked again to undergo a medical exam last July, then phone interview a month after. During my phone interview, I asked the CO what took my application so long to be reviewed again which costed me to retake another medical exam again, CO probably understood my valid points, and I was asked to directly email my police clearance to her as soon as I get it from my mail. Less than 5 days after I sent my police clearance, visa was finally granted. Whew!

Hi all, my husband tried to applied for 820/801 but couldnt go through stage 1 as it showed some error message saying he either had previous visa cancel/refused (which he hasnt), or his location cannot be confirmed(he is currently in australia with me), or he doesnt hold an appropriate visa or there is a condition in his visa.
Anyone has similar situation to this and can advised us?
He is currently on ETA 601 visitor visa with expiry date May 2020, status: period of 3 mths stay, multiple entry, no work. He hasnt violated this.
He came into australia in Aug 2019, departed Nov 2019 with me and we traveled back in Nov 2019 last week. We were questioned by custom officer at the airport, the officer say he has been flagged. Saying that he cannot use this visa to come and visit me (although he doesn't over stay the three months period?). They did say we need to apply for partner visa which was in our plan.
Will this event prevent him to apply the visa?
We did check his current visa's status via VEVO, and it didnt show any others condition, there is no "no further stay"condition either.
Any idea and help would be much appreciated.
