Congrats! That's very quick - wondering how long you and your partner have been together? I applied in Nov 2018 and still haven't heard anything.

I applied on 23 of October 2018 but still no news. We have lived together now for 3 years, together for 4 and all a theoretically straightforward application. Donít lose heart! I have a friend who applied June 2018 in a similar situation, assigned CO in October 2019 and just had visa granted in December 2019. It seems like thatís a fairly standard timeline from whatís popping up on different forums
Hang in there!

oops i didnt see this thread is the more active one, cross posting from the other thread

Hey all, i have gotten so much help from the forums so far and thank you for that

short story is we applied for onshore back in dec 2017, and dec 2019 we were asked to supply a few more things regarding evidence such as evidence of contact while apart as well as a form 80 for my partner (she is the applicant) and as well as form 40sp from myself. <this has now been done, and we clicked "i confirm we have uploaded the requested additional information>

we were given 28 days but we submitted within 14 as we gathered a LOT of things to show. anyway my question is

Now, moving forward, while we wait for our next correspondence from our CO

**we still have not been asked to provide police checks. given that it has been 2 years already, should we apply for them now or still wait until we are asked for them?**

We submitted them with our 820 application. Saves waiting to be asked.

Is there an expiry date for PC ? If you submit with application could they ask for updated ones even if you dont travel back to your country of origin while waiting onshore?

Depends on how long you think your police checks will take. Theres no harm in providing them in advance. Only downside is that they may expire before your application is finalized and you need to apply for new ones.

Police checks expire in a year. You will need to provide a police check for any country you have lived in for the last 10 years.

Hello alicia,

did you keep uploading evidence along the way between June 2018 and Dec 2019 after your first submission? I've been told by my agent to just keep my evidence until being asked, but was wondering how you done it since you got both visa granted at the same time

Even if you are living in Australia and not returning to your home country?

We kept uploading new bits every few months. I am sure it helps that way.

Immigration do say that they are under no obligation to request anything from you, and can decide an application based only on what you upload to begin with.
