Hi everyone :) we applied for 820 on 9 April. This forum has helped me so much with the process, thank you very much.

Does anyone know how you can inform the department of small changes such as the occupation of supporting witnesses? One of our witnesses got a job recently, but at the time of writing the form 888, he wrote unemployed as he didn't have a job then.

Kind regards,
Daisy

I personally would not have worried about such a small change.

Actually, one of ours did change job, but we never even considered that.

Help w/ Form 80 Q35

Hey everyone,

My partner and I are in the final stages of getting our paperwork ready for the 820/801.

I'm working through the Form 80 and I'm a bit confused by Question 34 & 35.

For Q34: I am currently in Australia on a 482 visa, and I was in Australia when it was granted. What should I put for "Arrival Date"? The date of visa issue? Leave blank because I was in Australia? (I have not exited and re-entered the country on this visa yet.)

For Q35: Prior to my current 482 I was working in Australia on a 457, with multiple entry/exits. Prior to that I traveled to Australia multiple times on 3 different ETA visas.

With this quesiton, are they asking for the list of visas I held? (4 total) or the list of all times I visited Australia? The question says "Give details of previous visas" but then the rest of the form seems to indicate they want you to list all times you've been to Australia, including multiple entries on each visa.

Thanks for your help everyone! I look forward to joining the (very long) queue with others here. :)

Thanks! I have a case officer but they emailed me using [email protected]. i have emailed them back and the email just bounced back.

I have emailed partner.temporary.nsw.gov.au. is there another way of contacting them?

Thank you

I am in the same boat. Applied on 12 November 2017 and they have asked for additional documents in Feb 2018. I am still waiting for the approval. It has been 29 months now which is what the website says. Is there anyone we could follow this up?

why don;t you wirte to the case officer and ask? it's been too long and you will be granted 801 straight away.

Hi everyone!
Anyone who applied in October 2018 still waiting?

Have you been requested anything?

I’ve just received a second automated email at almost 18 months.
Still no request for anything and application marked as received.

I can’t wait to hear something!

820 visa granted

Long time lurker first time poster here. 820 visa granted yesterday in 13 months 1 week, so much quicker than expected!!

Have found this forum so helpful so thought i would share my timeline:
I am from the UK, my partner is australian. We had been together for 18 months when we applied and i was previously on a 457 visa.

Applied onshore on 30/03/2019 without the help of an agent, i just did a lot of research and prep work before submitting.
Submitted UK, AFP police checks in July 2019 along with partners AFP
Did medical in Jan 2020 without being prompted
Uploaded updated evidence every couple of months (bank statements, social evidence such as holiday tickets, pictures etc and bills).
No contact from the department at all, just the grant in my inbox yesterday!

Now to wait until Feb 2020 to apply for the 801, good luck to everyone else waiting for theirs to come through!

Got my 820 Grant yesterday (18 months wait)

Applied: 17 November 2018
820 Granted: 7 May 2020

We’d been together for a year, married a few days before the application. Did all the paperwork ourselves.

The only tip I have: Don’t overthink. I did and it made me go crazy!

My application was all front loaded, even submitted renewed police checks without being asked. I submitted over a 100 documents together. Combined multiple documents into single files, organised by headings and sub-heading, stitched 20-30 pictures together into seperate PDFs, and what not!

I think I did it because I was worried we didn’t have an agent. But after reading everyone’s experiences here, it calmed some nerves.

Seeing everyone get their grants, even for those that applied like 6 months after me, got me worried. I wrote to the different email addresses and never received a response. Basically nothing can guarantee a speedy grant, when it’s your turn, it’s your turn.

Good luck❤️
